Assembly Engineer

As an Assembly Engineer at sl-alabama-llc, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Supplier Quality team to develop and validate material specifications for new materials. You will also evaluate and monitor component parts, assemblies, and raw materials to ensure exceptional quality standards. You will review and ensure that projects take into account customer requirements, product performance, packaging, cost, and quality. Additionally, you will introduce manufacturing processes and materials to high-volume production facilities. You will identify, qualify, select, and recommend equipment, process, tools, and materials. You will specify, order, and assure the proper implementation of new process equipment and tooling. Job Purpose The primary mission of this position is to lead activities related to equipment characteristic improvement for the Georgia Transmission Plant, Mission Assembly Department. This will be accomplished by performing true root cause analysis of top problems and implementing countermeasures. Key Accountabilities Equipment top problem root cause analysis and permanent countermeasure. Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends related to equipment performance. Identify improvement opportunities for Key Performance Indicators and for cost avoidance/elimination. Become an expert in a specific area of automation technology (i. e. PLC, Motion Control, Robotics, etc. ) Then, train associates on equipment or process changes. Lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment. (Spare Parts, Procedures, PMs) Project Management: Define and create scope of design and construction for renovation, upgrade of existing electrical systems, or for build of a new system with a focus on cost control. Conduct PDCA during design and implementation stage. Create, implement and maintain project schedules and achieve desired results. Review, verify and approve electrical engineering drawings at the various design completion levels. Work with and manage contractors' activities throughout the different phases of a project. New Technology: Use manufacturing expertise to support company's development of new processes. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experience Minimum Experience If BSEE, then 0yrs. If Experience only, then 6 years in related field.
