Heavy Equipment Technician Wanted About the Job The position of a Heavy Equipment Technician is a highly specialized role that requires expertise in maintaining and repairing cranes. The individual will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating parts, as well as fixing problems when the crane malfunctions. This position involves working in a safety-first environment, where the technician must always prioritize their own safety and the safety of others. HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requires technicians to be available on-call and provide after-hour or weekend services as required by customers. Duties & Responsibilities • Must be able to work on-call and provide after-hour services as required. • Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes at customer locations. • Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generate inspection reports and repair orders. • Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager during the day to schedule and complete work on a daily basis. • Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and responsibly, notifying immediate supervisors of any deficiencies. • Maintain the ability to work effectively within a team environment. • Attend company-provided training and seminars as required. • Participate in the HCSG 5 Marks program. • Other duties as assigned. Work Environment This role involves frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting, and prolonged standing and sitting. The individual must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis and occasionally lift up to 100lbs. Travel from time to time (20-50%) may be required, and the individual must be willing to work various shifts to accommodate needs of HCSG branches and customers, including on-call and overtime.
