Mechanical Maintenance Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE Join our team as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, where safety is our top priority! You will work collaboratively to ensure all plant production and service equipment operates smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include: • Maintaining and repairing plant production and service equipment • Addressing and preventing product spillage • Operating forklifts, skid loaders, and other heavy equipment • Performing electric arc welding and fabrication tasks • Adhering to safety procedures and promoting a culture of safety • Working a rotating schedule of days and nights (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH • Be a champion for safety, adhere to environmental health and safety policies • Engage in continuous improvement and skills development • Contribute to maintenance duties following established work instructions RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS Complete other assigned responsibilities as needed. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Required Education: High School diploma/GED Required Work Experience: 1-3 years Licenses Preferred: Valid Driver's License Required Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and SAP is essential. Mechanical Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE PURPOSE all duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed, and individual works as a team member. The primary responsibilities of this position are keeping all plant production and service equipment in reliable operating condition and maintenance of equipment on the Plant. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas • Performs maintenance work on plant production and service equipment • Maintains tools used within department • Responsible for repair and elimination of product spillage • Operates equipment such as a forklift, skid loader, and teleforker • Operates heavy equipment such as chain falls and come along • Must be able to work overtime as necessary • Must be able to work independently as well as in teams • Performs electric arc welding • Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS policies to assure that environmental, health, and safety are the first priority of the business). Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results • Performs maintenance duties in accordance with safety procedures • Performs maintenance duties following standard work instructions to ensure proper utilization • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS • Other responsibilities as assigned WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Required Education: High School diploma/GED Required Work Experience: 1-3 years Licenses Preferred: Valid Driver's License Required Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic knowledge about computers, Microsoft Office and SAP Additional Requirements: • Prior cement plant experience or the equivalent to be familiar with all processes, locations and functions • Must pass Bennett Comprehension Test • Knowledge of mechanic, replace defective parts of a machine, adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts. • Experience on Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, etc. • Understand, read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to construction and able to draw mechanic parts to be built. • Must take Ferris State Evaluation Test and agree to a program of further education to strengthen weaknesses detected in the evaluation • Willingness to engage in a program of formal training to progress to journeyman status • Knowledgeable in the Plant safety procedures and regulations • Must be proficient in the safe usage of the basic tools of the position • While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to • Travel through a cement plant, i.e., walk over obstacles, climb stairs and ladders, lift heavy or awkward parts, wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, respirators, etc.), work in outside weather conditions with exposure to extreme cold and heat. • Ability to carry out Welding, Oxy Cutting, fabrication, and basic machining jobs. • Able to perform lifting & rigging activities • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels • Ability to carry out corrective maintenance in the following equipment: Bucket Elevator maintenance, Belt Conveyor maintenance, Hopper/Chute/Casing maintenance, Crusher maintenance, Stacker maintenance, Reclaimers maintenance, General Gearbox maintenance Blower, Compressor & Dryer maintenance, Bag filter maintenance, Air slide maintenance, Apron Feeder maintenance, Fan maintenance, Chain Conveyor maintenance, Screw Conveyor maintenance, Lubrication equipment and hydraulic system, Tool application Valves & fittings, Bearing removal & installation, Pump maintenance, Air Blaster maintenance • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
