Sr CFD Engineer – Star-CCM+

Job Title: Sr CFD Engineer – Star-CCM+ Specialist Job Description We are seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer with expertise in Star-CCM+ to support advanced simulation and analysis efforts across aerospace and defense programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in fluid dynamics, thermal modeling, and Multiphysics simulation, and will contribute to the design, optimization, and validation of high-performance systems. Responsibilities • Develop and execute CFD simulations using Star-CCM+ for aerodynamic, thermal, and Multiphysics analyses. • Support design teams with performance predictions and design trade studies. • Generate high-quality meshes and validate simulation results against test data. • Automate workflows and contribute to digital engineering initiatives. • Document results and present findings to cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Essential Skills • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering field. • 3+ years of experience in CFD modeling with Star-CCM+. • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and turbulence modeling. • Experience with scripting (e.g., Python or MATLAB) for automation in Star-CCM+. • Familiarity with CAD tools and geometry preparation for simulation. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in aerospace or defense applications (e.g., propulsion, thermal protection, aerodynamics). • Exposure to other simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, FUN3D, LEWICE3D, OpenFOAM). • Knowledge of digital thread and model-based engineering environments. • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance. • Flight Test Planning or the ability to write flight test plans is super important.
