Mechanical Estimator

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator! Gpac, a 30+ year-old recruitment company, is partnered with a well-established company in the Mechanical industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of mechanical systems in projects and evaluating the cost and schedule required to perform a project. REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to manage mechanical bid process including general conditions, HVAC, process piping and ducting, millwrighting, and structural steel • Perform cost comparison and analysis • Recruit and maintain relationships with quality reliable trade contractors, vendors, and suppliers • Estimate cost of all mechanical plans including accurate quantity take-offs • Develop schedules and task durations • Willingness to learn and adapt to new construction methods and markets • Establish and monitor budgets for all construction phases • Help identify cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures • Monitor plan changes • Estimate prices of all changes • Manage subcontractor solicitations as needed • Experience drafting subcontractor scopes of work • Ability to read and understand Contract Drawings and Specifications • Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process • Assist with creating submittals and coordinate with project managers during pre-construction phase QUALIFICATIONS: • 5+ years of construction experience preferred • Travel to job sites as needed • Ability to work evenings or weekends if needed • Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans WHAT WE OFFER: • Competitive salary based on experience. • 401(k) plan with generous matching. • Dental and vision insurance for you and your family. • Health insurance coverage. • Paid time off to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones If you are ready to join a dynamic and customer-focused team in the Mechanical Industry, do not miss out on this opportunity! Driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes, provide technical expertise to enhance our production capabilities. • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineer team (Quality, Design, Systems, and Analyst) and Manufacturing to identify priorities, elevate barriers, and work projects to completion. • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to lead root-cause and corrective action in a structured manner. • Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified, then deploy corrective actions. • Develop and improve materials and manufacturing processes. Required Education Bachelor Required Years of Experience Please reference the Basic Qualification for minimum years of related work experience required Basic Qualifications • Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university. • 15+ years of experience in carbon fiber composite manufacturing • Must have prior experience with at least 4 of the carbon composite materials and manufacturing processes below: • Carbon/Epoxy prepreg and aluminum honeycomb core • Laminate and composite sandwich layup techniques • Out-of-Autoclave curing processes • Composite design allowables development • Familiarity with NDI inspection of composite structures • Troubleshooting manufacturing issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective action • Ability to travel internationally and domestically, up to 25%. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in materials engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university. • Candidate would ideally have 15+ years of experience in carbon fiber composite manufacturing • Experience with carbon/phenolic composite systems • Experience with filament winding or tape place composite manufacturing • Experience with higher temperature composites (C/C or C/SiC) • Experience with use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) in a manufacturing environment • Experience with resolving complex and high-profile technical challenges in a dynamic setting • Excellent communication and time management skills • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, etc…) Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $140,198.00 - $233,663.00 Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
