The Sheet Metal Installer III & Foreman is responsible for planning new HVAC duct installations at construction sites and contributing knowledge to the submittal process. This role is responsible for quality installations, inspecting the work of others, and able to apply expertise to solve complex problems. This position partners with Project Managers, other departments, and Foremen to ensure successful project completion. The individual may lead a small team as part of a large company project and/or may act as the primary lead for Sheet Metal for small, short-term project. The ideal candidate is a role model for others and has a safety-first mindset. REQUIREMENTS • Reads and interprets complex architecture drawings, 3D blueprints, and ceiling drawings. Shares in-depth knowledge of submittals and specifications with others. • Consults with Project Managers, Foremen, and other departments to plan installations prior to job kick off meetings. • Responsible for job site measurements, ordering materials, proactively submitting order sheets to the Fabrication team, and working with Foremen to communicate with local teams. Ensures lead times are provided to allow for material ordering, fabrication, and to allow deliveries to be planned. • Leads and organizes teams for specific jobs and systems to be accomplished in a scheduled manner for efficiency of projects. Motivates others and delegates work to ensure job tasks are completed. • Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues associated with sheet metal installation or job tasks. • Installs sheet metal duct using hand tools, cutting equipment, and appropriate safety equipment. Ensures hangers, duct, and duct supports are installed to SMACNA standards. Responsible for inspecting the work of others and training new members of the team. • Plans work out week by week for assigned jobs and shares staffing requirements with the Lead Foreman or Department Manager. Understands and is responsible to keep a job site productive and profitable. • Always follows safety policies and wears the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each job task. • Ensures assigned tools and equipment are properly maintained following preventive maintenance guidelines. • As part of the Sheet Metal team, this individual is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED diploma and 5+ years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
