InnoTECH Staffing is looking to hire a Senior Process and Equipment Design Engineer for an exciting and high growth renewable energy start-up in the Greater Boston / Southern New Hampshire area. This is a great opportunity to build and lead a team. Would like the candidate to be within commuting distance to the office in the Greater Boston / Southern New Hampshire area. ​​​​​​We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer specializing in rotating equipment and piping design to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in design, optimization, and implementation of processes within the organization. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and process optimization techniques. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the development of sustainable resource recovery infrastructure. Key Responsibilities • Lead and grow a team to perform detailed process engineering for facilities through the development and construction phases. • Provide technical support to the operations team for projects that have been placed in service. • Analyze existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, robustness, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement strategies to optimize process performance. • Partner with the Procurement Specialist to evaluate and select equipment and components based on project requirements, technical specifications, and performance criteria for timely delivery and installation. • Conduct risk assessments and safety analyses for processes and equipment. Implement safety measures and protocols to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and standards. • Maintain accurate records of project activities, technical data, and design changes. Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or related field. • 5+ years of experience in mechanical process engineering, preferably in industrial or municipal wastewater treatment engineering and design. • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science. • Familiarity in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering analysis tools. • Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, COMSOL) is desirable. • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, attention to detail and ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business needs. • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills – able to effectively convey technical concepts orally and in writing to a broad range of work groups and stakeholders. • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards applicable to mechanical systems and processes. • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is preferred • Preference may be given to candidates with the following: Experience with construction of industrial scale resource recovery, anaerobic digestion/biogas production, nutrient removal, and RNG facilities; Understanding of electricity and RNG markets; Industrial food manufacturing experience related to resource recovery systems. Location/Travel • Based in our Headquarters in Southern NH – possibility of hybrid or remote pending experience. • Typical travel (<25%); up to 50% travel in a given month.
