Senior Mechanical Designer (Water & Wastewater)

Our Northeast Engineering Design Organization is looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer , whose expertise will shape the future of water and wastewater treatment facilities throughout the region. In this role, you'll collaborate with a high-performing team to prepare detailed drawings and construction documents, including P&IDs, equipment layouts, and piping systems for pumps, tanks, and process equipment. You'll be hands-on in extracting designs from 3D models, coordinating with engineers and project managers, and contributing to technical decisions that drive project success. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: • Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently. • Solutions Analysis: Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. Solutions could be technical or professional in nature. • Applications Software Maintenance: Monitor, identify, and correct straightforward software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software. • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. • Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate. • Product and Solution Development: Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems. • Design and Conceptualization: Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services. • Operating Machine or Equipment: Operate complex machines and systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity. Also responsible for generating solutions to complex inefficiencies. • Quality Assurance Testing: Carry out a specified range of complex tests; interpret test data to verify that specifications are met and/or to identify remedial actions required to ensure conformance. What you will bring to the team: • Associate’s Degree in Drafting/Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar field • At least 10 years of relevant water / wastewater treatment project experience in industrial and/or municipal drafting/design required • Experience with AutoCAD v. 2022 or higher • Working knowledge of laser scan point clouds, Plant 3D, Navisworks and/or Revit preferred • Ability to create 3D Models and/or Orthographic drawings that incorporate Industry Standards • Skills in using project management techniques that include planning, scheduling, documentation and presentation of ideas. • Experience with Autodesk BIM360 / ACC a plus Interested in this opportunity? Operations Mechanic

To work cooperatively and communicate politely with Department Heads, Employees, patients, visitors, and other personnel to operate, repair, install, clean, modify, troubleshoot, evaluate, safety test and maintain the hospital’s heating, cooling and ventilating systems. Provides support for the operation and maintenance of other mechanical and life safety systems that are important in the day to day functions of the hospital. Description: • Sign-On Bonus Eligible! 1. Operate, troubleshoot, repair, plan, install, modify, evaluate and maintain, heating, cooling, pneumatic & electronic controls and ventilation equipment; i.e. roof top HVAC units, chillers (gas, electric) & (air and water cooled), building exhaust systems, boilers, etc. 2. Must be able to understand, operate and provide oversight (but not install) when needed hospital life safety systems: i.e. fire alarm and sprinkler protection along with other critical systems such as medical gases and the operation and monitoring for isolation rooms and positive pressure rooms. 3. Apply current engineering practices using City, State, Federal and JCAHO codes, standards and safety practices to develop, install and maintain hospital equipment. 4. Performs preventive maintenance, safety checks and inspections on systems in accordance with department and Hospital guidelines and procedures (such as infection control etc.). Repairs equipment in a timely manner. 5. Ensure the DDC building management system is properly monitored and is controlling the hospital’s building environmental systems to maintain a safe and comfortable area for patients, visitors and staff. 6. Maintain established departmental procedures, objectives, quality assurance, infection control and safety policies along with participation in educational programs and in-service meetings. 7. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. 8. Will be required to communicate in a manner that is efficient and effective; i.e. the use of e-mail and the hospitals Meditech system. 9. Perform other work related duties as requested or assigned. Qualifications: Grade 14: • Good physical and mental health • High school graduate or GED required • Good physical and mental health, • Minimum (5) years experience in installation and maintenance of commercial / industrial HVAC, • (2) years experience using a building environmental management systems such as Johnson, Siemen’s or Honeywell systems, • Person must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of boilers and steam plants, • Ability to read, write and communicate in English, • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license is required, Grade 15: All Grade 14 qualifications plus: All Operations Mechanics who possess or obtain a Massachusetts trade license in the field of Electrician, Plumbing, Pipe fitter or Refrigeration shall be advanced to a Grade 1 Schedule Details: 40 Hrs. Controls Engineer

Purpose of the Role: Responsible for analyzing and enhancing the current electrical designs with the focus to optimize the used material, dimensions and their sizes and cost based on advanced devices for the applications (Standardization).
