About the position Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Corrugated Packaging facility in Augusta, GA. The role of the Maintenance Technician is crucial in supporting the facility's vision of safety, uptime, efficiency, and profitability as part of the Maintenance Reliability Team. Technicians will be expected to have and refine their skills in Industrial Maintenance crafts, performing both scheduled routine maintenance and unscheduled repairs on industrial corrugated box making machinery and supporting assets. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment by applying the 8 PDM principles and adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing machinery, performing routine scheduled preventative maintenance, and responding to unscheduled floor calls with a sense of urgency. You will also take ownership of assigned assets through a championship program, work with multi-craft technicians to learn and assist with electrical needs, and utilize CMMS and other software to create, alter, and complete work orders. The position requires a willingness to work any shift, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed, and you will need to provide your own basic hand tools and rolling toolbox. A self-starting and disciplined work ethic is essential for success in this role. Requirements • 2+ years maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing or production environment. , • Ability to read and understand mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics/drawings. , • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
