Desired Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering • 4+ years professional experience • PE License (Preferred) • Revit proficiency (Preferred) • Experience in designing HVAC systems including air distribution, VRF, hydronic piping, building automation, and central plants. • Experience in designing building plumbing systems including waste and vent, hot and cold water, storm drain, natural gas, compressed air, and fire protection. • Proficiency performing HVAC load calculations using load calculation software (Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, etc.) • Familiar with current codes and standards involved in mechanical and plumbing system design (IMC, IPC, IBC, IFGC, IECC, ASHRAE Standards 90.1, 62.1, etc.) • Must be a creative problem-solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to communicate well with architects, engineers, and contractors. • An understanding of building construction methods with an interest in building science.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Position We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Professional Design Services team in either one of the following Pond offices (Atlanta, GA; Augusta, GA; Savannah, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Tempa, FL; Port Orange, FL; Columbia, SC; Charlotte, NC; Huntsville, AL; Mobile, AL; New Orleans, LA) or as a Remote Employee. The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of related MEP design engineering experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will take leadership in the design of mechanical systems (including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing and piping) while mentoring junior/mid-level MEP engineering professionals and supporting proposal efforts. Design projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to building systems design. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter and can move quickly and efficiently through a variety of design stages ranging from concept plans to construction documentation.
