Job Description Join AECOM as a Mechanical Inspector and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects. This role involves confirming compliance with project specifications and industry standards for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of mechanical installations while collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Inspect mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards. • Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications. • Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, confirming proper functionality and performance. • Identify and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions. • Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance. • Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life-threatening safety conditions. • Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality control and compliance tracking. • Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts. • Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-ups. • Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: • BA/BS in Construction, Architecture, Mechanical Eengineering or related field + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • 2 years of experience in construction inspection Preferred Requirements: • Experience working on federal managed construction projects • Experience in reviewing contractor shop drawings and submittals • Experience working in and around historic properties • OSHA 10-hour training certification • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software • Experience working with federal Project Management Systems Additional Information Additional Information: This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in mechanical systems and construction inspection. • **NO RECRUITERS*** About the Role GHT is seeking a bright, motivated mechanical design engineer with PE license and 8-13 years of HVAC design experience in the commercial, multi-family residential, and institutional environments.
