Project Engineer (Civil)

Triad Engineering, Inc. has an immediate need for a Project Engineer within the Civil group in our Hagerstown, MD office. Employee Owned Firm Excellent Benefit Package including: • Medical, dental, vision insurance • 401(k) plan • Paid holidays • Paid Time Off • Life, Short- and Long-term disability insurance with company-paid premiums • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) • Employee Assistance Program • Wellness Program • Company supported Professional Development • Career Advancement This mid-level position requires: • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology • Four (4) years of relevant progressive experience • EIT The preferred candidate will be eligible to sit for the PE in less than one (1) year, or currently holds a PE DUTIES • Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on moderately complex projects • Possess the ability to take a project from concept to final completion with occasional supervision • Work closely with senior staff members to gain project management experience • Monitor project budget and schedule, understanding basic financial terms and concepts of profitability • Plan, schedule and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work with clients, contractors and project team members • May make design recommendations, adaptations and modifications with guidance from senior staff members • Prepare reports and correspondence related to assigned projects • Prospect, develop and maintain client relationships • Participate in business development and customer service whenever possible • Strive to make each project profitable QUALIFICATIONS Education • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology Experience • 4 years of relevant progressive experience • Post-graduate degree in engineering may substitute for one year of experience Certification • Must be eligible for, or hold, a Professional Engineer's License Additional Requirements • Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle • Must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills • Must be comfortable communicating with the public • Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs, and the ability to learn company / client software • Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments Work is performed both in the office and in the field, which may include all weather conditions, construction sites and/or difficult terrain, and extensive standing and walking. In the field, the employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples). Overall, work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs. • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
