Job Description: IS4S is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to oversee the testing and validation processes for energetic systems. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of safety regulations while managing the testing of energetic materials and formulations. The senior testing engineer will play a crucial role in designing, conducting, and analyzing testing protocols for energetic products, ensuring their safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. The role requires a deep understanding of testing methodologies for high energy materials, explosives, and advanced propulsion systems in both the laboratory and field environments. Key Responsibilities: • Design and implement comprehensive testing strategies for energetic formulations. • Ensure detailed test plans and protocols are well documented. • Tailor testing strategies for both product performance and safety validation. • Ensure compliance with OP-5 safety regulations during testing operations. • Manage laboratory equipment and maintain safety protocols. • Analyze testing data to validate product quality and safety. • Identify trends, discrepancies, or potential issues and generate clear, detailed reports for internal teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to testing procedures, methodologies, and equipment to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of testing activities. Basic Qualifications: • Working knowledge of OP-5: Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore. • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in an engineering discipline with 15+ years of testing experience in energetics. • Expertise in the testing of energetic materials, including explosives, propellants, and other high energy systems. • Proficiency using advanced test equipment. • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and statistical methods for test result analysis. • Deep understanding of safety protocols for hazardous materials and conducting high risk tests. • Minimum Security Clearance: SECRET; TS if necessary. Desired Experience: • Expertise in safety standards related to energetic materials. • Prior experience in defense, aerospace, or energetics fields. • Experience leading or coordinating teams and mentoring junior resources.
