Construction Mechanical Engineer

Serco-NA is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to provide oversight for the COLUMBIA Class program office in Washington, DC. This program office is responsible for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation and Live Fire Test and Evaluation of the COLUMBIA Class submarine. The program is a major defense acquisition program and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. In this role, you will: • Provide engineering and systems engineering support to the program office. • Recommend course of action(s) for unexpected technical and programmatic issues related to RDT&E. • Perform technical planning, cost, schedule, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analysis for total systems; analyses performed at concept, design, test, evaluation, and operational phases. • Review and develop analytical and technical input needed in order to evaluate documentation and development of briefs to ensure accurate, timely and essential information is proved to decision makers. • Prepare Unclassified and Classified briefs for audiences up to and including Navy admirals. • Attend meetings and specified Program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). • Set high personal standards for performance and conduct. • Demonstrate ability to be a team player; works well with others; contributes positively to work/team environment while continually seeks ways to enhance contribution to the team. • Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. • Perform a variety of tasks under general supervision. • Typically report to a supervisor or manager. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will: • Required: A SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one. • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar engineering technical degree and 0-2 years of experience. • Required: MS Microsoft skills are essential, especially Excel and PowerPoint. • Required: You must have the ability to work both in a team environment and independently, and often under short, multiple deadlines. • Work experience in the Navy and specifically within NAVSEA is a plus. • Travel 10% of the time. MEP Engineering Division Manager

SUMMARY This leadership role oversees the development and growth of an MEP Engineering Division serving the Mid-Atlantic region. The position offers the opportunity to lead a team of professionals in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering, with responsibilities spanning design, project management, client engagement, and strategic planning. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering from an accredited institution. • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required. • At least 10 years of experience in an MEP design environment with proficiency in mechanical or electrical design (both preferred). • Strong understanding of MEP disciplines and familiarity with architecture and structural engineering. • Proficiency in AutoCAD (BIM experience preferred). • Excellent communication, organizational, and business development skills. • Valid driver’s license and ability to perform site assessments, including climbing ladders.
