Electrical Assembly Technician

We're looking for an electrical assembly technician to join our team. We're small specialty shop that designs and builds custom electrical connectors for automated production machines. Job requirements include: • Basic Assembly • Simple Manual Machining • Soldering • Wire Labeling • Wire Pulling • Crimp Connections Some experience is preferable but not required, any motivated applicant with good mechanical aptitude will be considered. Candidates must be able to think critically and work without specific detailed instructions. Everything that we build is custom and will need employees to look at drawings and determine what is the best process to use to build an item. This is a contract position for a few months. Pay is $18/hour and hours are 8am to 5pm. Must have reliable transportation. Interview process will include a phone interview. After the phone interview, we will ask for references to call and may need applicants assistance to get information from previous employers. After references have been checked we will go through an onsite interview process. This role involves directing and leading the work of other employees, constructing and terminating de-energized multi-phase systems, and performing administrative duties. The incumbent will work under general supervision and collaborate with other qualified personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.Job Duties Perform any work of an Underground Utility Worker Special. Regularly direct and lead the work of up to five (5) other employees. Determine site and location for direct buried systems. Construct de-energized multi-phase systems. Terminate in de-energized multi-phase underground equipment. Energize and de-energize single-phase underground equipment with another qualified journeyman. Energize and de-energize multi-phase underground equipment with a qualified general foreman. Stake and locate underground wire associated with their work. Install street light systems associated with underground plats. Perform associated administrative duties and record keeping. Perform other similar and related work.Knowledge and Skills Technical knowledge in electric transmission, distribution, and metering. Ability to read and understand construction prints and interpret electrical schematics and substation drawings. Knowledge of HVD switching, tagging, and clearance procedures. Promotion of human performance tools to eliminate operational errors. Ability to direct resources in both routine and non-routine emergency operations. Understanding of business drivers and operational priorities. Ability to follow a union contract and resolve union concerns. Demonstrated skill in transfer of knowledge and employee development. Strong communication skills with outside customers. Proficiency in Cascade, Access, SAP, and TOA.Required Qualifications CDL Underground Journeyman cardPosition will be filled at the Electric Journeyman Lineman level as the candidate must already have all of the qualifications of an Electric Journeyman Lineman, including uploading a certified Electric Journeyman Lineman card or certification (equivalent to 4 years of experience as an electric line worker) into their application.All qualified applicants will not be discriminated against and will receive consideration for employment without regard to protected veteran status, disability, race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin.
