What You’ll Do As a Senior Electrical Engineer at LSC, you will: • Lead moderate to large sized projects, making technical recommendations and decisions on complex issues. • Provide leadership and guidance to the electrical engineering team, mentoring staff and growing technical expertise in the power discipline. • Work with project teams to create design documents and drawings, including power and controls drawings, reports, calculations, and associated documentation. • Interface with electrical utility providers to design service interconnects. • Develop specifications for procurement, installation, and testing of electrical equipment. • Oversee design reviews, perform engineering calculations, studies, reports, and field investigations. • Apply electrical engineering software (SKM, ETAP, etc.) for modeling and analysis. • Communicate and coordinate project activities with project management, customer representatives, and stakeholders. • Manage project scope changes, identify risks, and develop contingency plans. • Frequently interact with clients, vendors, and contractors to build confidence in LSC’s technical solutions. • Recognize business development opportunities and contribute to proposal writing, cost estimates, and client presentations. What We’re Looking For Education & Credentials • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering. • Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Experience • 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience. • Proven technical leadership with experience mentoring teams. • Industrial electrical control system and/or power system design experience strongly preferred. • Experience with high, medium, and low voltage power systems, protective relay schemes, switchgear, MCCs, drives, and power distribution equipment is desired. • Substation design experience a plus. • Direct experience with industrial facilities and energy industry projects (Oil & Gas, Renewables, Distributed Power). • Familiarity with codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, API, AGA). • Field experience supporting projects during construction is an advantage. Technical Skills • Experience with design of control systems, PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, and network architectures preferred. • Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, or other electrical analysis software. • Knowledge of electrical area classification (hazardous areas). Signal Workers are an important link between ensuring compliance to FRA regulations and customer satisfaction while achieving the safest most efficient railroad operations.Principal Duties: Signal Workers are primarily responsible for performing FRA regulatory test and inspections of the signals systems and crossings. Install, repair, and maintain, test and inspect various equipment such as signals lights, switch machines, electrical switch locks, switch circuit controllers, as well as crossing warning devices as well as the maintenance and repair of automated classification yards. Install, repair, maintain, test, and inspect signal systems including Automatic Block, Traffic Control, Positive Train Control, cab signal and interlocking systems. Other general duties include cable locates, painting and housekeeping of signal housings & equipment; climb and troubleshoot signal structures and make electrical connections. Use of a wide variety of hand tools, on track high-rail equipment, and test instruments Perform construction duties, including digging holes and trenches to lay cables, wiring apparatus, setting foundations, installing equipment, etc. This role requires travel and on-call availability including weekends. Apprentice Signal Trainee Training Program Successful applicants will participate in a 52-week paid apprenticeship training program that includes in-class theory and lab work with hands-on skill development in the field.
