Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations and Maintenance Electrician

JOB POSITION: Operations and Maintenance Electrician Job Summary: The role of the Wastewater Plant Operations and Maintenance Electrician is to perform all tasks necessary for the safe, efficient, and economic operation of the wastewater plant. This position involves ensuring reliable operation of electrical systems and adhering to industry standards, including general plant maintenance and operations so the treatment plant meets or exceeds all State and Federal Rules and Regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following, however, other duties may be assigned or scheduled. · Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components. · Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and equipment. · Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layout and procedures. · Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards. · Preform routine inspections on all plant electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation. · Document all work and ensure proper record keeping · Work/Collaborate with contractors on all construction projects coordinating electrical work. · Calibrate instruments as required and document results. · Assist staff in daily operations. · Track inventory and supplies. · Order needed materials. · Assist in all maintenance of the plant. · Regular and reliable attendance (in all weather conditions) · Reports directly to maintenance Supervisor Education, Experience and license’s: · Completion of apprenticeship program or technical training in electrical work · Journeyman electrician license (preferred) · Working knowledge of industrial electricity · Microsoft office (Word/Excel) basic computer skills. · Working knowledge of wastewater treatment systems (preferred). · Ability to follow and or create new work instructions. · Mathematical ability to calculate data · Ability to work with minimal or no supervision. · Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others. · Currently have or have the ability to obtain Wastewater Operator’s license in the State of Virginia. (Required) · Must Possess Valid Virginia Driver’s license. Physical Demands: · Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach, talk, hear and use vision. · Regularly required to stoop, bend, push, pull, climb, kneel, balance, or crawl. · Occasionally required to lift and or move up to 50 pounds and possibly more. · Occasionally exposed to wet, uneven, steep, and slippery conditions. · Occasionally exposed to excessive heat and dust conditions. · Occasionally exposed to extreme outside weather conditions. · Will be required to work with or near hazardous chemicals. · Will be exposed to Wastewater.
