Purpose & Scope: The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing electrical and electronic repairs to machinery and support equipment throughout the Timken Bucyrus Bearing facility. This role requires troubleshooting, effective repairs, and the application of problem-solving skills to ensure the reliability of plant assets. Essential Responsibilities: • Plan, detail, and establish working procedures; specify and order necessary materials, tools, and equipment. • Apply thorough knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes, material properties, and operating system principles. • Respond promptly to machine breakdown reports and general repair requests; determine root causes of problems through technical expertise and collaboration with personnel, adhering to safety and lock-out/tag-out procedures. • Develop repair strategies and resolve complex issues by collaborating with maintenance team members, vendor support, independent research, and operators. • Utilize the SAP system to document maintenance work as assigned by the team/group leader. • Read and interpret procedural manuals, blueprints, and diagrams (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic) to troubleshoot issues logically and effectively. • Dismantle, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, control panels, circuit breakers, and electronic devices; reassemble, test, and adjust equipment for safe operation. • Maintain required records and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unsafe conditions to the Supervisor or Manager. • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance. • Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment; follow prescribed safety, PPE, and environmental regulations as mandated by EHS. • Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and instructions for repairs, new installations, or inspections; perform evaluations to locate issues and make necessary wiring or program revisions. • Design and install conduit runs, determine wire quantities and sizes according to design and OSHA/NEC guidelines, and perform necessary mechanical tasks for supporting and hanging conduit. • Fabricate and assemble control panels, pushbutton stations, junction boxes, etc., for new installations and rebuilt equipment. • Inspect and clean switchgear and substations; repair electrical controls and valves on heat treat furnaces while adhering to mandatory safety specifications. • Execute minor metal fabrication, pipefitting, and welding duties as required. Educational/Technical/Functional Skills: • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering preferred. • 2-3 years of hands-on electrician experience in a manufacturing facility. • Working knowledge of machinery and controls (e.g., Mills, Lathes, Heat Treat Furnaces, Grinders, Assembly Equipment). • In-depth knowledge of electronic and electrical equipment; familiarity with Modicon, Allen Bradley, and PLC-Direct PLCs preferred. • Proficient with electronic testing equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, meggers) and able to confirm calibrations. • Basic PC skills required; SAP experience preferred. • Strong ability to read blueprints/technical manuals and follow written procedures for troubleshooting. • Excellent teamwork and communication skills; attention to detail and service orientation are essential. Specific Physical Requirements: • Activities include frequent walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting (up to 35 pounds), pushing, and pulling. • Repetitive movements such as twisting, bending, gripping, and operation of hand tools are required. Unusual Environmental Conditions: • Exposure to a wide range of temperatures, loud noises, fumes, dust, and oil. • The heat treat area averages 70-95 degrees F; during summer months, temperatures can reach 100-105 degrees F. Humidity levels may vary. • Risks associated with open flames, quench oil exhaust fumes, and handling “red hot” parts and tools. Required Personal Protective Equipment: • Standard factory PPE required, including hearing protection, eye protection, EH-rated safety toe shoes, and hand protection (gloves). • Arc Flash protective equipment as determined by analysis and EHS requirements. • Compliance with Lockout/Tagout procedures. Maintenance Electrician

Job Title: Maintenance Electrician Job Description We are seeking skilled Maintenance Electricians to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This opportunity involves working the night shift from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am, with active work on Saturdays. The primary function of this role is to inspect, repair, install, and maintain all electrical and electronic equipment within our Bearing and Distribution plants. Responsibilities • Inspect, repair, install, and maintain electrical/electronic equipment. • Plan and establish working procedures and specify required materials, tools, and equipment. • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical systems. • Dismantle, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, control panels, circuit breakers, and electronic devices. • Receive electrical drawings and instructions for repairs, new installations, or inspections. • Analyze drawings and wiring diagrams to locate problems and make revisions. • Design conduit runs and perform necessary wire pulling and electronic cable connections. • Fabricate and assemble control panels, pushbutton stations, and junction boxes. • Inspect, clean, and repair high voltage transformers, switchgear, and substations. • Perform minor metal fabrication, pipefitting, and welding duties. • Conform to all safety and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Essential Skills • Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC troubleshooting experience. • Machine controls expertise. • Minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing. • Ability to troubleshoot 24v DC & 480 volt electrical systems. • Solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. • Safety knowledge: Lockout/Tagout procedures. • Comfortable with climbing ladders and walking extensively in a large facility. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with rigid conduit and the ability to read hydraulic/pneumatic prints or schematics. • Comfortable working with computers, lasers, and vision systems. • Fanuc Robot maintenance experience. • Lift operation skills. • Pneumatic & hydraulic systems knowledge. • Robotics experience.
