Your responsibilities include installing, servicing, inspecting, and troubleshooting lights, electrical systems, and components, all contributing to the completion of heavy-duty work truck builds. Essential Responsibilities • Plan, detail, and establish working procedures; specify and order necessary materials, tools, and equipment. • Apply thorough knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes, material properties, and operating system principles. • Respond promptly to machine breakdown reports and general repair requests; determine root causes of problems through technical expertise and collaboration with personnel, adhering to safety and lock-out/tag-out procedures. • Develop repair strategies and resolve complex issues by collaborating with maintenance team members, vendor support, independent research, and operators. • Utilize the SAP system to document maintenance work as assigned by the team/group leader. • Read and interpret procedural manuals, blueprints, and diagrams (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic) to troubleshoot issues logically and effectively. • Dismantle, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, control panels, circuit breakers, and electronic devices; reassemble, test, and adjust equipment for safe operation. • Maintain required records and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unsafe conditions to the Supervisor or Manager. • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance. • Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment; follow prescribed safety, PPE, and environmental regulations as mandated by EHS. • Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and instructions for repairs, new installations, or inspections; perform evaluations to locate issues and make necessary wiring or program revisions. • Design and install conduit runs, determine wire quantities and sizes according to design and OSHA/NEC guidelines, and perform necessary mechanical tasks for supporting and hanging conduit. • Fabricate and assemble control panels, pushbutton stations, junction boxes, etc., for new installations and rebuilt equipment. • Inspect and clean switchgear and substations; repair electrical controls and valves on heat treat furnaces while adhering to mandatory safety specifications. • Execute minor metal fabrication, pipefitting, and welding duties as required. Educational/Technical/Functional Skills • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering preferred. • 2-3 years of hands-on electrician experience in a manufacturing facility. • Working knowledge of machinery and controls (e.g., Mills, Lathes, Heat Treat Furnaces, Grinders, Assembly Equipment). • In-depth knowledge of electronic and electrical equipment; familiarity with Modicon, Allen Bradley, and PLC-Direct PLCs preferred. • Proficient with electronic testing equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, meggers) and able to confirm calibrations. • Basic PC skills required; SAP experience preferred. • Strong ability to read blueprints/technical manuals and follow written procedures for troubleshooting. • Excellent teamwork and communication skills; attention to detail and service orientation are essential.
