Electrician

Looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team, who is a team player. The ideal candidate will have experience with and be proficient with: • Allen Bradley PLC5 • Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000 • Allen Bradley panel views • Allen Bradley Communications—Device net & Ethernet • Scanning and Optimization systems within the Lumber Business (Baxley, USNR) • Process Network Communication Systems and Components—Ethernet & Fiber Optic Required skills you will need: • Must have High School Diploma or GED • Able to read and understand drawings and printed instructions • Must be a self-starter who can work safely under high-pressure situations • Test electrical systems and circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or repair • Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) • Work with vendors to identify needed parts and recommend to Supervisor • Understand and update instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints, and schematics • Program AC & DC variable speed drivers • Update power distribution system, MCC, and switch gears • Install electrical equipment • 3 yrs. Industrial Electrician experience troubleshooting, correcting, and maintaining all electrical equipment within the manufacturing facility. Electrical Journeyman

Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Journeyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and/or industrial electrical systems, along with the ability to read blueprints, follow safety standards, and complete work efficiently and accurately. As an Electrician - Helper for PCL Solar Constructors, Inc., you will contribute to our team by: • Perform quality work as determined by the project specifications. • Effective use of verbal and written communication – good interpersonal skills. • Work safely at all times and promote safety to others around you. • Assist in maintaining a safe workplace. • Possesses a strong working knowledge of and experience working with electrical systems in a solar construction setting. • Examine drawings and specifications for various work tasks and ensures current information is passed to other members of the crew. • Assist journeyman / technicians in completing work packages for the project. • Install and maintain solar panel systems, ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and safety regulations. • A basic understanding of electrical theory and circuits including the operation and function of typical electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, generators, and lighting systems. • A thorough knowledge of and proper use and installation of standard wire, cable, conduit, fittings, cable trays, and hardware commonly found in solar construction. • Conduct regular maintenance and system inspections to optimize performance and identify potential problems before they occur. • Coordinates work activities and installations with with the installation team to assure productivity and to eliminate conflicts in the field. • Receives and follows the instructions of the electrical Foreman.. • Participate fully in health, safety, quality, and environmental processes. What you will bring to the role: Skills: • Strong math knowledge and skills as related to the job tasks. Able to add, subtract, multiple, and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately. • Knowledge of electrical codes, safety protocols, and industry best practices to insure electrical installation is per current applicable codes. • A general knowledge of the National Electric Code. • Ability to read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding drawings, lighting arrangements, panel drawings, and other specifications. • Knowledge and experience of electrical installations such as high/medium/low voltage distribution, switchgear, DCS, PLCs and raceways above and below ground, cable tray, cable installation, and instrument installation. • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. Education: • Must be willing to attend and successfully complete continued training applicable to the job as deemed necessary by PCL. Training may include the NCCER curriculum, other third party courses, and PCL or PCL developed classes. • Must have valid driver’s license or other government issued identification. Physical: • Must comply with PCL’s drug and alcohol abuse policy. • Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by PCL. • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways. • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.) • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. PCL policy requires getting assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director. • Must be able to work a 10 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside weather conditions. • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.). • Must work all hours needed at the jobsite and possible weekends with short notice. Safety/Environment: • Knowledge solar construction site hazards which may require special precautions and PPE. Knowledge of power generating plant and cement plant hazards and special PPE. • Must undertake the appropriate safety/environmental training commensurate with the position and location. • Understand and implement lockout/tagout procedures as needed or directed in a safe manner. • Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels, and permits in English.
