Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Position Summary Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the plant’s business goals and objectives. Essential Responsibilities • Perform highly diversified duties to maintain plant equipment • Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties • Participate in the maintenance On-Call system with qualified Technician. • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situation to proper supervision • Comply with MSHA regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas • Other duties as assigned Education and Experience • A minimum of (1) or more years of experience maintain heavy equipment, preferably in a sand mining plant. • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience • Associate degree or technical school equivalent preferred • Welder certification preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner • Must have strong welding hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills and experience. • Must be able to work 8-16 hour shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed • Strong communication skills Working Conditions & Physical Requirements • All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty • Safety-sensitivity position • Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, stoop, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects • Ability to operate hand controls with both hands • Ability to operate mobile equipment, foot pedals with both feet • Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching • Ability to work in cramped quarters • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 150 feet • Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 150 feet All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
