Journeyman Electrician

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Journeyman Electricians for projects located in and around Minden, LA. This is a first-shift opportunity with a pay range of up to $32/hour based on experience plus $100/Per Diem to Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Reads and interprets blueprints, with no supervision. • Installs complex conduit configurations per blueprint specification using appropriate tools. • Mounts electrical boxes, fixtures, and enclosures. • Stocks and sets up electrical wire carts. • Pulls wire through conduit and makes ground connections. • Reads blueprints to determine placement of wire. • Installs wire for complex configurations. • Installs and covers receptacles and switches. • Properly performs wiring insulation resistance, continuity, and point-to-point terminations checks. • Performs operational checks to ensure quality and employee proficiency. • Keeps inventory of parts in the area. • Trained and proficient in the National Electrical Code. • Performs other tasks as assigned by crew leader or supervisor.

Experienced Maintenance Electrician

Job Description Job Description Craftsmen Contractors is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician for the Minden, La. area. This is for a manufacturing plant that helps build modules and steel structures for data centers. You will be responsible for maintaining, replacing, or repairing electrical equipment throughout the plant. This is a temp-to-permanent position for the right candidate. The work schedule is day shifts from Monday through Friday and every other Saturday when needed. Pay is $23.70 - $35.80/hr. depending on experience No per diem is offered. Weekly pay by direct deposit. Job duties: · Install conduit. · Replace circuit breakers, contactors, disconnects, and other electrical equipment. · Repair electrical saws, vacuums, and other electrical tools as needed. · Ensure work is compliant with the National Electric Code. · Perform complex troubleshooting and repair any problems that may arise with electrical systems throughout the facility. · Perform routine repairs to the AC systems. · Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities without assistance. · Maintain the security and controlled access system. This includes cameras, security gate controls, maglocks, prox-readers, fiber optic modules, etc. · Read blueprints and schematics for electrical repair. · Must be available for on-call 24/7. Job Requirements: · Pass forklift certification test and a short written electrical test. · Electrical license a plus. · Good leadership skills. · Skilled at PLC troubleshooting and programming. · Basic math and computer skills. · Able to bend and run conduit. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints. · Skilled in single and three-phase electricity and troubleshooting electrical problems. · Be knowledgeable of motor starters and reversing contactors. · Familiar with electronic motor controllers. This includes troubleshooting and replacing. · Be able to calculate loads. · Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. · Good judgment and attention to detail. · Be able to work at elevated heights. · Pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen. · Have a high school diploma or GED. · Ability to use hand tools. · Experience operating a forklift, manlift, and scissor lift. · Experience with various testing equipment, i.e., DVMs, amp clamps, pH meters, and chart recorders. · Wear PPE. · Ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally (with assistance) when working with electrical equipment and tools on the job. · Be able to carry objects such as ladders or parts from the warehouse. · Have clarity of vision, with or without corrective lenses · Work in various environments – you will sometimes be exposed to hazardous conditions with extreme noise levels.
