What you will do as an Electrician: Perform regular maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure they are in top working condition. Diagnose and repair electrical problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime. Install new electrical systems, machinery, and equipment as needed. Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Recommend and implement upgrades to improve electrical systems and processes. Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work. Work closely with other team members, including mechanics and production staff, to ensure smooth operations.Experience and skills that will help you stand out: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a sawmill or similar setting. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment would be considered a plus. Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset. A commitment to safety and the ability to follow strict safety protocols. People • Customers • Trust Principal Accountabilities: • Support mill through use of established electrical maintenance, reliability and engineering best practices and processes • Building electrical maintenance strategies and execution plans that will continually improve the electrical reliability of operations and provide a more competitive position in key operating parameters such as safety, environmental, product quality, productivity, and cost. • Provide technical support for efficient troubleshooting and or problem solving activities and electrical repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime. • Lead electrical maintenance resources, initiatives, and strategic plans and be accountable for performance of electrical systems and assets. • Perform research, design and development of electrical maintenance processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment. • Support bottom line profit and loss improvement in all areas by analyzing electrical maintenance processes for cost reduction, quality, and efficiency improvement • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products and processes, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results. • Monitor sites and procedures to confirm that all operations are in compliance with corporate regulations. • Plan, develop, coordinate and direct assigned engineering projects to a successful completion • Conduct assessment of or respond to electrical process improvement requests. • Collect data resulting from investigations and perform / obtain analyses up-date. Provide report with recommendations and conclusions. • Ensure production crew and management has adequate training in regards to assigned projected and equipment knows and follows policies and procedures of the company shares information that would benefit of the members of the team and finds ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers. The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating the planning, organizing, and completion of mill capital projects within the area of assigned responsibility. The engineer will help to: define projects budgets; order material; define scope of work for various disciplines; coordinate and oversee the installation of electrical/mechanical projects. Principle Accountabilities: Responsible for managing all phases of developing key maintenance programs from conception through final implementation. Will work with key maintenance and engineering personnel to support daily, monthly scheduled maintenance outages and annual outages jobs within the field of electrical maintenance and engineering. Some crossover activities to the mechanical maintenance programs will be required to deliver complete programs for all types of equipment. Will work with mechanical maintenance/engineering and operations personnel to complete electrical or mechanical maintenance projects and programs including: necessary training, stocking of spare parts, preventive maintenance checklists, drawing creation and updates, etc. Supports the Mills goals for safety, environmental, and other areas of need. Focus on electrical equipment reliability. Manage equipment tracking and rebuild programs. Utilize predictive & preventative maintenance programs to identify and correct equipment issues. Input and update equipment information and documentation. Manage assigned work for monthly and annual outages. Assist with MS Project timelines for monthly an annual outages. Plan and execute capital projects for maintenance replacements of equipment. Effectively manage jobs for best result at lowest cost. Look for opportunities to solve issues, reduce cost, and improve planning performance. Solve problems utilizing the mill’s RCFA program. Effectively manages contractors for performing jobs. Performs other responsibilities as needed. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Equivalent education and experience required. A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience, or the equivalent, in Electrical maintenance. Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project, RSLogix 5000, PTW/SKM Power Tools, and AutoCAD. Successful completion of drug screen required and authorization to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred. The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers Ability to exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills.
