Electrical Apprentice/Journeyman

Primary Responsibilities and Duties • Ability to read blueprints, run conduits, wire, and terminate devices, perform quality control testing, and troubleshooting • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations • Installing electrical wiring to ensure electrical systems in a home, business, or other environment • Troubleshooting electrical issues to find the source of a reported problem and identify repair options • Inspecting components, including wiring and electrical products, to ensure they’re safe and within the required code • Test and start up systems and continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement • Required to pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity. • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed. Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years residential electrical wiring, repair and troubleshooting all aspects of the Electrical System • Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in a new and existing setting • Detail oriented with good time management skills • Can lift, carry, and maneuver a minimum of 75 pounds without additional manpower or appropriate device • Must be able to work in the outside elements of heat and cold safely and on ladders and/or roofs medium to high heights • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision. • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required • U.S. Driver's License required • A valid electrician's license preferred • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing Join our team at JS Electric where your skills will be valued, and your contributions will make a difference!
