Duties & Responsibilities • Pre-Design Engineering • Perform field surveys for electrical system design, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports. • Prepare electrical schematic designs. • Design Engineering • Design power single line and riser diagrams. • Perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM. • Select lighting fixtures and power equipment. • Perform lighting and power circuiting. • Design and coordinate lighting control systems. • Prepare fire alarm device layouts based on the International Fire Code and NFPA 72. • Develop fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations. • Prepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details. • Utilize CAD/BIM standards effectively. • Apply California Electrical Code and Energy Standards to medium- and low-voltage system design. • Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural disciplines. • Edit project specifications. • Project Management • Manage multiple large-scale projects with senior engineers and sub-consultants. • Mentor design engineers. • Prepare client proposals independently. • Develop new business and strengthen relationships with existing clients. • Construction Administration • Review and respond to RFIs. • Review equipment submittals. • Perform punch walks and prepare punch list reports. Qualifications & Requirements • Education & Licenses • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. • Experience • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. • Ability to lead electrical design projects and manage design teams. • Demonstrated project management strengths. • Skills & Technical Knowledge • Proficient using AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit. • Familiarity with HCAI requirements. • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled at identifying underlying issues. • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
