Plant Electrician

Essential Functions and Responsibilities • Perform maintenance on machinery, production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems, including both planned and unplanned repairs. • Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems and AC/DC drive systems effectively. • Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed, including on-call support. • Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to complete required maintenance and repairs. • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks, such as computerized inspections or SPC chart/data reviews. • Ensure the efficient operation of line manufacturing support systems (e.g., line/lube delivery, resin delivery, process systems, operational support). • Accurately document completed work orders in CMMS to maintain quality standards. • Communicate with management, other departments, and team members regarding issues or concerns that may impact production efficiency. • Complete all paperwork clearly, legibly, and accurately, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). • Assist with maintaining inventory of parts and supplies, checking items out of stock and reporting low levels to a supervisor. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including the maintenance shop. • Identify and monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs). • Follow OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and PPE requirements. • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and safety programs as required. • Support and demonstrate company core values, including integrity, collaboration, customer focus, and innovation. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. • Reasonable accommodations may be made, if necessary, to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Work Environment • Regular exposure to moving equipment. • Primarily indoor work environment. • Heat levels may exceed 90°F, with humidity over 80%. • Noise levels may exceed 85 dB. Physical Requirements • Frequent use of wrists, hands, and fingers. • Standing, stooping, and squatting for more than 75% of shift. • Frequent bending, kneeling, and use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles. • Regular lifting, pushing, or pulling of 30–50 lbs. • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts for more than 75% of shift. • Occasional exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals, working at heights, and risk of electrical shock. • Periodic exposure to vibration and continuously operating equipment. • Occasional bending, twisting, reaching, and computer/keyboard use. Position Type • Full-time, 8-hour shifts. • Overtime may be required based on business needs. Education and Experience • High School diploma or equivalent required. • 3 year minimum experience • Associate’s or Technical Degree in Mechanics, Electrical, or Computer Science preferred. • Welding and fabrication skills. • Experience with machining, lathes, and mills is a plus. • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repair and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with maintenance work order systems. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, piping, and electrical drawings. • Proficient in using hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. • PLC certification preferred. • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. • Strong understanding of machine control systems and electrical schematics.
