Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Electrician / Instrumentation Technician to support our beef processing facility. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, control instrumentation, and automation equipment to ensure optimal operation of our production and utility systems. Responsibilities • Install, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with local codes and facility standards. • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot process instrumentation including temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, pH probes, and weight scales. • Support and maintain PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and associated HMIs. • Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control drawings. • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems. • Respond to and resolve breakdowns to minimize production downtime. • Maintain and improve plant lighting, motors, motor controls, VFDs, and power distribution systems. • Document maintenance activities and calibrations using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and food safety regulations. • Support capital projects and assist with commissioning of new equipment or upgrades. Education & Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical diploma in electrical/instrumentation technology preferred. • 3+ years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in food processing or manufacturing. Skills • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and instrumentation. • Experience with control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA). • Familiarity with 480V systems, VFDs, and low-voltage controls. • Ability to work from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS systems. • Ability to work in cold, wet, or noisy environments and lift up to 80 lbs.
