Journeyman Electrician (P-Wage - Cal Poly SLO)

DUTIES & SCOPE: • Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings. • Prepares work area for installation of equipment. • Installs electrical components. • Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification. • Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate. (Note: Powder activated tools, and JLG lifts and other operations that may require certification and training before operating). • Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems. • Be able to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified. • Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans. • Secure and lock up equipment after use. • State Journeyman Electrician Certification is a requirement in states where required or considered highly desirable in states without this requirement • A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget. • Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow. • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves always), respirator when required. • Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night shifts as required. • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required. • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers. • Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job. The starting hourly base pay for this role is based on the prevailing wage rate: USD $65.00 per hour (hourly + FBIC) with an additional amount into your Davis-Bacon account. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits. Electrical Apprentice

Description: Photon Brothers is a leading provider of solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions committed to reducing our customers' carbon footprint and energy costs. We specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining energy storage and solar PV systems for residential and commercial clients. We are looking for an Electrical Apprentice to join our team! The role of an Electrical Apprentice will provide the opportunity to work under the direction and supervision of higher-skilled and licensed Electricians on all phases of residential PV, energy storage and charging stations. Skills in all areas of electrical are not necessarily required, but the job can and will involve a variety of electrical disciplines and a strong candidate will be able to perform a variety of electrical tasks from distribution/production power, lighting and low voltage. Working with a team, the Electrical Apprentice will assist with new installation of: power distribution, transformers, lighting, and electrical equipment, Inverters, and batteries. Responsibilities: • Assist team with electrical tasks at residential job sites, to include installation of inverters, batteries, transformers, and other tasks as directed • Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues as they arise • Work in conjunction with other electricians to complete tasks efficiently, accurately, and to scope • Work with the lead Electrician to ensure electrical trucks are outfitted with all necessary equipment for job completion • Learn about and be able to differentiate between wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC • Deliver excellent customer service Requirements: Requirements: • 1-4 years of electrical experience a must • Ability to work on a team and be coachable required • Knowledge of basic electrical theory and Ohms law • Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions, lift up to 60 pounds, and work in various heights and tight spaces • Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment. • Able to size conductors, conduits and use the NEC Code Book. • Must have at least 9 years driving experience, and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Check and pass a background check All full time offers are eligible to enroll in health insurance (four different plans, with plans as low as $25 per pay period!), dental and vision insurance, and company-sponsored life insurance and company-sponsored Teledoc! Journeymen Electrician

Industrial Journeyman Electrician ISE is an industrial electrical contractor based out of Turlock, CA and expanding to San Luis Obispo, CA. We strive to set the standard in everything we do. Most of our customers include, but are not limited to, food and beverage manufacturing facilities. We provide services such as production line upgrades, power distribution, automation and controls support, and telecommunications infrastructure installations. As a company we provide plenty of opportunity to learn on the job as well as off to allow for individuals to develop their skills and increase their earnings. Scope: Employer seeking California State certified journeyman to work in a rigorous work environment. Must be versed in all aspects of an industrial journeyman tasks. Will be expected to perform buy output of production. Journeyman will be expected to have the ability to critically think through projects and provide solutions coinciding with customers needs, NEC code, local codes and company standards. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Study and adhere to the company policies and standards • Support the telecommunication installation efforts of each project • Report to each assigned worksite ready to work • Interact with customer to ensure functionality of installations • Troubleshoot and fix physical network infrastructure issues • Install all applicable telecommunications components pertinent to each project (support, cable, terminations) Required Experience: • 6+ years’ experience preferred • California State Certified Journeyman card required • Certification and/or experience operating man-lifts preferred • Experience working in industrial environments a plus Certifications: • Required - 8000 hours minimum with California State certified journeyman card currently on record. Need not apply if you do not have to this. • Required – CPR certification. • Required – OSHA 10 & OSHA 30. • Preferred – arc flash training and certification. Skills: • Aptitude for learning and implementing new installation methods • Attention to detail, quality minded • Ability to work long days on installation/construction projects • Skilled working with hand and power tools • Ability to work as part of a team • Ability to interact with customer in a professional manner • Must be able to legally work in the US • Lifting capability of 50 lbs. • Must possess a valid driver’s license • Able to pass drug testing • Must have experience in working in or around food processing and industrial environments. • Must the competent in pipe bending and pipe threading. Conduit types with preferred experience are GRC, ARC, EMT, Ocal & Stainless Steel. • Must be confident with 480 V main distribution power and distribution systems. • Will be expected to have Basic knowledge of some control systems for motors and devices. • Required and expected to guide and enhance multilevel of apprentice experience and guide them to completing jobs.
