Brief Summary: The Electrician will maintain, repair, and replace electrical equipment throughout the plant. Responsibilities: • Work with electrical and electronic technician repair personnel, operating personnel, and other maintenance personnel to analyze problems and to reduce operating downtime. • Work closely with operating personnel to solve problems or to improve operating equipment. • Maintains adequate electrical supplies, equipment, and tools. • Submits reports concerning the condition of equipment and need for repairs or replacement. • Instructs electrical repair personnel and other personnel on hazards and mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic safety procedures. • Reports unsolved problems or changes in equipment or method of operation to the Maintenance Supervisor. • Attending schools, classes, meetings, or seminars recommended by or scheduled by management. • Assist in size changes where required or requested by operating management. • Understand and follow company rules and regulations concerning conduct. • Understand and follow Federal, Local and Company safety rules and regulations. • Accept added responsibility and assignments from Manager or other supervisor, which may not be listed in the job description for this position. • Repair electrical or electronic equipment throughout the plant. • Instruct electrical repair personnel and other personnel on hazards and electrical and electronic safety procedures. • Perform preventative maintenance to all electrical or electronic equipment throughout the plant. • Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description. Qualifications: • High School Graduate (GED (General Education Degree) Accepted) • Preferred Trade School or Industrial Apprenticeship in Electric or Electronic Trades. • Preferred (2) years’ experience as a journeyman electrician or electronic technician. • Preferred Ability to operate an industrial system computer. • Preferred Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) control systems. • Drug Screening and Background Check required Physical Requirements: • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to fingers, hands to feel, reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. • The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
