Limited Maintenance Electrician

Position Title: Limited Maintenance Electrician • Oregon LME/PJ/General Journeyman Electrician License is required for this role Pay Rate: $45.62/hour + $2000 in bonuses Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 after 30 days of employment $500 after 6 months $500 after 1 year Category/Shift: Hourly Full Time Monday-Friday 2:45PM-11:00PM Must be able to work alternative shifts, weekends, and overtime as required. Physical Location: Hillsboro Preprint Facility 5582 NE Huffman St Hillsboro, OR 971254 The Job You Will Perform: • Following all safety rules and practices • Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels • Perform emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations • Accurately use measurement and test equipment • Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed • Install wire and conduit for newly installed and existing equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, converting and corrugating machinery • Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices such as proximity switch timers, scanners and photo electric devices • Diagnose and repair/replace faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems • Troubleshoot drives, i.e. AC and DC • Read electrical block diagrams, schematics as well as PLC ladder logic • Maintain clean and organized work areas, and cleanup work areas as part of completing assigned tasks • Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork • Trouble-shoot and solve problems • Self-motivated, able to follow through to completion with assigned responsibilities • Maintain teamwork with other associates • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring: • LME/PJ/General Journeyman Electrician License - required • Electrical Aptitude • Troubleshooting Expertise • Mechanical knowledge and experience • Must be able to pass an advanced industrial skills and instrumentation/electrician knowledge test prior to interview process The Benefits You Will Enjoy: International Paper offers a benefits package that includes health, welfare and retirement plans including Medical, Dental, Life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Short-term and Long-term Disability, 401(k), Company-funded retirement contributions, Paid Time Off, Education & Development (including Tuition Reimbursement), Student Loan Repayment Assistance, and Voluntary Benefits including insurance for home, auto, vision and pets. As a successful and growing Oregon small business, we are currently looking to hire a Standby Power Generator Systems Electrician to contribute to our growth. As a Technician you will perform new installations, inspections, testing, maintenance, diagnostics and load tests on all brands of generators from small residential to large commercial sizes throughout Oregon and SW Washington, requiring our technicians to drive to customer locations, interact with our varied customers in a professional and courteous manner, and fill out all necessary reports online and on paper indicating the performance of the generator. Job Responsibilities: • Install new generators. • Perform field inspections, diagnose, and repair of generators. Determine generator condition by performing inspections and tests. • Troubleshoot electrical problems. • Perform load bank tests and routine services. • Complete generator semi and annual services while inspecting for and identifying potential failing components. • Load test batteries, check, and repair charging systems. • Verify generator performance by conducting performance tests, making different adjustments to the controls or systems as required. • Maintain accurate records and documentation of service and repairs performed. • Keep and maintain your own inventory of tools and equipment properly. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifying Skills: • Basic understanding of Generators, diesel and gaseous engines, transfer switches, controls, and systems. • Understand the operation of transfer switches and switch gear. • Electrical systems fundamentals and work practices. • Work safely around all equipment and electrical components. • Qualify new and used parts upon receiving. • Complete jobs assigned in a timely manner with little to no supervision. • Provide superior customer service including both verbal and written communications. • Must work /communicate well with internal team, electricians, and contractors. • Participate in educational opportunities/training and reading technical and regulation publications. • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clearly and concisely. • Basic computer skills (MS Office, emails, typing, etc.) Education and Experience Requirements: • Completion of a Electrical, Diesel or Gasoline engine mechanic program preferred or 2 years hands on experience with Kohler, Generac or Cummins Generators and transfer switches. Other Requirements: • Own and maintain a proper inventory of tools for the position. • Maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the employer's insurance policy. • Ability to travel by vehicle 85% of the time. • Ability to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends. Physical & Mental Requirements: • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. • Ability to lift 75 pounds occasionally. • Ability to see, hear, talk, and touch. • Ability to perform repetitive motion. • Ability to travel by car. • Ability to work in a fast-paced/high pressure environment.
