Electrical Data Center Specialist

Job Title: Electrical Data Center Technician We are seeking an experienced electrical data center technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, monitoring, and support of physical facilities conditions in data centers. • Key Responsibilities: • Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems, including electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems. • Provide daily assistance to technicians by reading blueprints/schematics/sequence of operations, conducting tours of systems, and assessing their working order. • Manage the uptime and maintenance of UPS, generators, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems. • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment. • Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure. Requirements: • A degree in a related field or equivalent experience. • At least 5 years of experience in electrical work, preferably in an industrial/commercial environment. • Experience with generator inspection, maintenance, and operations. • Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment. • Ability to work non-standard hours and work rotations/shifts. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in maintenance of electrical distribution systems or construction/technical environment. • Knowledge of electrical systems used in a data center environment. • Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems. Key Responsibilities: • Install, maintain, and repair power lines, poles, and associated equipment while prioritizing safety. • Operate electric line construction equipment such as stringing gear, backhoes, derrick diggers, material handlers, and trucks. • Efficiently and safely perform line work from a pole or in a bucket truck. • Perform regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power outages, interruptions, and equipment malfunctions. • Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems to enhance their longevity and reliability. Requirements: • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program recognized by the Join Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) and the IBEW is required. • A valid Class A CDL/Air-brake endorsement Oregon Driver's License is necessary. • Knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and safety protocols is essential. • The ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is required. • Strong physical fitness and the capability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions are necessary.
