Division Administration • Reviews plans and attends all pre-construction meetings for all developer projects and City construction projects that involve section’s facilities. • Conducts walk-throughs and final warranty inspections for all new construction projects involving City owned facilities, infrastructure, and sites. • Generates a punch list of corrections needed and forwards to project inspectors for action. Assist project Inspectors when needed. • Works with Engineering and Water Resources Divisions (Stormwater) to identify special project needs and suggest recommended improvements to project design for areas of their responsibility, including recommendations for corrections or changes to the City's development guidelines and construction standards. • Provides updates and corrections to City maps to the City's senior surveyor for correction. Prints maps for special projects and work crews or to troubleshoot problems as needed. May make mapping corrections and updates as necessary. • Uses other computer software programs including maintenance of databases to support operations. • Uses work management software to accurately track labor and asset maintenance. Creates preventative maintenance routines, when necessary, to ensure maintenance standards are met. • Adds and removes assets to the asset management system and GIS. • Responsible for ensuring accidents and injuries are appropriately documented by field staff. May also assist in the creation of modified duty agreements. • When City owned assets are damaged or destroyed, creates billing sheets to recover repair costs. Budget and Asset Inventory Management • Assists Operations Division Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the section budget. Monitors budget monthly to ensure expenditures and revenues are accounted for and corrects discrepancies immediately. Performs research for budget preparation and maintains records as assigned. • Following the City’s purchasing policies, purchases materials and/or contracted services for the work of the section. • Performs administrative functions, which includes inventory, operational reports, record-keeping and statistics, policy research and development, and special projects as assigned. • Purchase inventory and maintains sufficient emergency inventory repair parts as needed for assigned work section. Other duties as assigned: • Performs related work and special projects as assigned. • Perform Journey-Level Maintenance Work when needed. • Responds to after hour calls to make emergency repairs or handle emergency situations as needed. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in electrical maintenance and construction, with an emphasis on traffic control signals and street lighting.
