Highlights: -Starting Pay Rate: $28.84 -Shift: Monday – Friday 6:00am-3:30pm with the possibility of overtime and/or weekend work as directed by business needs Responsibilities: -Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical systems, heating and air systems, pumps, and boiler controls. -Trouble shoot and diagnosis malfunctions to live electrical systems as needed. -According to instructions or blueprints provided by the Maintenance Manager, complete construction projects by ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. -Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. -Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduits. -Pull wiring through conduit. -Splice wires and soldering wires and other electrical components. -Connect wiring to install or replace lighting fixtures or other electrically powered equipment. -Install control apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels. -Connect power cables to single phase 3 phase equipment and install proper grounding leads. -Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components. -Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, or replacement. -Physically repair faulty equipment or systems as needed. -Assist as needed with general plant maintenance. -Cut and weld steel structural members. -Provide guidance and technical assistance regarding specific job functions on an ongoing basis. -Assist, as needed, with general repair, painting, new constructions, preventative maintenance, etc. -Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety. -Use equipment such as a two-way radio, battery charger and cables, air tank, power and hand tools, welder, and forklift. -Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Proficient in PLC • Able to inspect, assemble, install, and repair all electrical AC and DC circuits, systems, switchgear, motors, and other electrical equipment throughout the plant. • Power distribution systems and other basic electrical / electronic equipment • Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic circuits. • Plan, prioritize, and complete work in most efficient way while working in accordance with all city, state, and federal electrical codes. • Employees must follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies. Requirements: • High School Diploma required. Technical school certification preferred. • Must be able to stand, walk, and use tools continuously as well as frequently reach, climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs. • Preferred candidates will have troubleshooting experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and AC/DC drives. Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is a plus. • Must successfully complete CBT training and BBSO. • Must be able to tolerate elevated heights and extreme temperatures. • Work requires performing tasks in all weather conditions. • Work requires good hearing, vision, speaking, color vision, and finger dexterity skills as well as the ability to perform close work. • Computer skills and the ability to analyze blueprints, charts, and diagrams are essential. • Electricians must supply basic hand tools. • Respirator and hearing protection required in some areas. • Must be willing to work any shift Supervisory Responsibilities No daily supervisory responsibilities. Back up Maintenance Lead as needed. Education and/or Experience and Skills • One-year certificate from college or technical school and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Electrical Maintenance experience • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Ability to read and understand blueprints, maps, etc. • Microsoft office suite to include Word, Excel and Outlook Certificates, Licenses, Registrations IIG Forklift Certified Electrical Certificate Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
