Minimum Qualifications • Level II Technician requires three years of field experience servicing generator systems with some experience on 500kw+, proficient with preventative maintenance, retrofitting basic controls, minor ATS repairs and loadbanking equipment. • All Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, related military experience or equivalent field experience. • Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming and replacing failed engine components. • Operational and functional understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems, able to troubleshoot and repair with minimal direction. • Ability to read and decipher electronic schematics and troubleshoot discreet mechanical and electronic systems to the component level with guidance from our Product Support team. • Experience with or ability to quickly learn advanced generator and electric system controls including Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC equipment in an advanced electric controls environment. • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals and policies and procedures. • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Must observe all safety standards. Essential Functions • Daily travel with independent work structure. • Provide 24x7 “on-call” services as required unless on PTO or Off Call. • Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments. • Battery installations and replacements. • Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled. • Customer contact and interface. • Communicate availability status to corporate office. • Protect company proprietary information, manuals, and records. • Use of electronic and electrical test equipment as necessary. • Coordinate and manage all on-site subcontractors hired by PSS as necessary. • Maintain company vehicle in safe and operational condition. • Ensure that work is performed to PSS standards. • Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other job required reports timely and accurately. • Provide technical support to customers upon request. • Maintain Technical documentation for study and/or review. • Willing and able to attend training as company deems necessary. • Own and maintain personal set of mechanical tools. • Cross train in other areas as needed.
