Electrician Apprentice

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Electrician Apprentice Responsible for assisting journeyman and apprentices by carrying material, picking up supplies, cleaning shop floor etc. Job Responsibilities • Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site. • Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit. • Drills holes for wiring and pulls or pushes wiring through opening. • Traces out short circuits in wiring. • Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors. • Performs minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches. • Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order. • Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment. • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. • Performs other routine duties. • Other duties as assigned Job Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will lead and facilitate multifunctional capital project teams. These teams may include operations and maintenance SMEs, process engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, controls engineers, Supply Chain representative, and external SMEs. You will facilitate consensus driven development and safe implementation of major and minor capital projects to maximize financial returns and achieve plant performance objectives. You will be accountable for realizing timeline, cost, and performance milestones for all assigned projects. How you’ll shape the future of the Project Engineering Department: • Supervises contractor’s field work. Leads safety discussions real time with contractors for all plant floor project activities to identify and proactively mitigate potential hazards prior to the start of work each day. Monitors safety compliance and performance of contractors to ensure standards are met and safety plans are in place. Leads and supports mill safety initiatives. Ensures quality control plans are in place and that planned project milestones are met • Collaborates with relevant project stakeholders (project team, peer groups, internal customers, SMEs, management) to give and receive feedback real time during conception, development, approval, and implementation of projects. • Work with reliability teams and peer groups on project budget development. • Utilizes technical expertise in the design, engineering, and installation of assigned projects. • Prepares in-depth feasibility studies, project appropriation requests (PAR’s), return on investment analysis, and project cost estimates. Works with outside engineering firms to develop larger and more complex projects. • Prepares or supervises preparation of drawings for assigned capital and other projects. • Leads equipment selection, sizing, and materials of construction effort for mill facilities and modifications. • Coordinates with Supply Chain in the preparation of equipment and contract specifications and bid packages along with delivery and receiving of new equipment and materials. • Investigates various types of equipment problems involving selection of materials, improvement of equipment and repair versus replacement analysis. Inspects mill facilities such as boilers, tanks, piping, sewers, and process equipment during shutdowns. Inspects equipment deterioration and failures and recommends actions required to reduce or eliminate failures and assure safe condition of potentially hazardous equipment. Utilizes technical expertise to solve problems as they arise across the organization. Participates in an area reliability team as a technical SME. • Ensures that all phases of project work are properly documented, i.e., project costs, equipment manuals and drawings, material certifications, etc. Procures spare parts and coordinates training for mechanics and operators as needed for new equipment and systems.
