Electrician

At Rhodes Electric we provide services to industrial, commercial, and residential electrical needs. We are looking for an experienced Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. Your job will involve installing electrical wiring in buildings and poles, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts, and repairing appliances. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems. The goal will be to produce and maintain well-functioning electrical connections to minimize the probability of accidents and maximize usability of electricity in all facilities. Responsibilities Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, generators, and other electrical systems Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems. Install safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.) Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components. Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them. Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and possibility of some overnights and some weekends Valid license to practice profession. Electrician Helper

Purpose: To plan/troubleshoot, service, layout, repairs and install wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment. Maintain and operate shop equipment and tools, performing quality work, as safely, quickly and efficiently as possible. Sell the company parts, labor and whole goods service at all times. Essential Functions: -Service, repair and install wiring, fixtures and apparatus at the direction of foreman. 1. Plan new or modified installations consistent with specifications and local electrical codes 2. Perform any inspections as required. 3. Connects appropriate power cables and perform continuity tests. 4. Repairs faulty equipment and systems. 5. Repair, service or install any needed fixtures and controls. 6. Keep accurate, easy to read records of work performed and turn in daily. 7. Maintain safe work habits 8. Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines and equipment. 9. About the position Responsibilities • Use appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, assemble and install electrical conduits. • Weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations in accordance with required color codes and other specifications. • Pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. • Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels. • Install grounding leads; splice wire by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twist or solder wire together and apply tape or terminal caps. • Work with high and low voltage systems; test and start up systems. • Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments. • Participate in all safety related processes and programs as requested. • Engage with your work team to ensure we achieve zero injuries. • Watch for hazards and report any concerns to your supervisor or safety professional. • Report all accidents and near misses to supervisor; participate in investigation process as needed. • Participate in all pre-job work planning and safety discussions. • Identify safety hazards and take necessary corrective action to eliminate and/or mitigate hazards. • Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices. • Attend site specific training and assure you follow all procedures as outlined in training. • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment. • Use effective verbal and written communication skills. • Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately. • Listen to co-workers suggestions, safety concerns, and recommendations. • Coordinate work with other crafts and co-workers on the job. • Provide on-the-job training and/or mentoring to helpers and laborers. • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards. • Read and understand plans and specifications, including one line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, ladder diagrams, P and ID's, and loop diagrams. • Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions. Requirements • At least 4 years of experience working as an industrial electrician or a combination of experience and training. • A strong working knowledge of the electrical craft and the National Electrical Code (NEC). • Must be at least 18 years of age. • If applicable should have all necessary licenses or certifications for the jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed. • Must have all necessary tools.
