About The Role Definition The Electrical Technician is responsible for all electrical aspects of the Water and Waste Water Treatment plants from their commissioning to the ongoing electrical maintenance inclusive of issue resolution and prevention Responsibilities • Liaise with Client or Operations manager/Engineer • Reporting to Senior Electrical Technician • Be cognizant of costs and how those costs • Ensure that HSQE Management Systems and processes are adhered to. • Respond to all service requests in a timely fashion • Maintain the company’s reputation in all dealings with the Client • Complete SSOW’s or follow process specific method statements • Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn when required. • Report any accident/incident which results in an injury to any person (not just employees) in accordance with Company Policy. • Report any unsafe situation observed to one’s line manager. • Ensure any defect regarding company vehicles is noted and head office informed. • Carry out work in a safe manner. • Use correct equipment for job. • Keep tools and equipment in good condition. • Ensure you wear appropriate PPE bespoke to the activities • Keep up to date with new equipment and methodologies • Act as electrical commissioning engineer on design build projects Requirements About You • 5 years plus experience in the construction industry an advantage. • Relevant qualification – FETAC/City & Guilds or equivalent experience. • Experience in the water and waste water industry would be an advantage. • Ability to read electrical and PNID drawings. • Must be flexible in working hours. • To be able to work on own initiative and to work as part of a team. • Ability to work in confined spaces and to work at height. • Full driving license. This role involves overseeing safe installations, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment. Responsibilities: • Demonstrate the ability to manage teams of electricians. Consistently complete projects on time, within budget, and in a safe manner. Supervise and direct field personnel, typically overseeing a team of 4+ employees. Helps establish performance goals and motivate crews to consistently meet or exceed goals. • Lead and manage crews comprising apprentices, journeypersons, crew leaders, and lead persons. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring alignment with project objectives. • Lay out project work and coordinate timely scheduling of materials, tools, and equipment to meet project scope, budget, and schedule. Supervise on-site construction projects, trade contractors, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed within established parameters. • Quality Assurance and Client Satisfaction. Review project documents, plans, and specifications to ensure compliance. Resolve construction difficulties, coordinate field installations, and oversee project close-outs. Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers/clients, ensuring satisfaction with project outcomes. • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, project costs, time constraints, and quality standards. • Conduct annual performance evaluations for assigned personnel as directed. • Report to the Field Supervisor, General Superintendent, or Project Manager. Interact with other field personnel and support staff, including Estimating, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, and other corporate services. • Engage with owners, owner representatives, architects, engineers, trade contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders involved in project-related activities. • Maintain required licensing and training requirements. • Perform other related duties as required and assigned. SUMMARY: Plan, forecast, lead, direct and coordinate the work of electricians, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure safety, schedule sequence, quality of work performed, production planning and tracking, and adherence to contracted scope, are performed as planned. DUTIES: • Oversee and manage all aspects of electrical construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project schedules. • Effectively communicate with on-site team leaders to successfully complete the project. • Effectively track all materials and equipment purchased. • Effectively layout Electrical / Mechanical equipment • Design conduit stub-up and routing paths for efficient install • Maintain a safe work environment. • Mentor on-site supervisor and leads. • Follow project schedule and keep the project moving forward successfully. • Effectively communicate and understand all subcontractors scope and ensure project schedule is followed. • Provide input to the Project Manager regarding cost and schedule forecasts. • Maintain current Red-Line set of drawings and update weekly if needed. • Maintain superior quality tracking to ensure any rework is eliminated. • Attend weekly project meetings and be able to discuss issues if needed. QUALIFICATIONS: • Must have at least 10 years of experience in the supervision of electricians • Must be a licensed Journeyman or higher • Must be able to interpret Commercial and Industrial construction drawings • Must be able to perform electrical equipment layout based on electrical and mechanical submittals • Must have effective communication skills • Organized • Must be proficient with Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, and Excel. • Ability to work in a face-paced environment • Must have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills • Ability to understand and interpret the NEC Code SALARY IS DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE.
