Airy, Pilot Mountain is a restoration and reconstruction company serving NC and VA. We are looking for skilled individual carpenters to join our in-house rebuild team. This is a direct-hire role, not a subcontractor position. Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. Job Summary: The Carpenter, Framing position is based at the Leonard Mt. Airy, NC building manufacturing plant, with operations in the U.S. and has overall responsibility for the construction of metal and wood buildings. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and does not have direct reports. Job Responsibilities: • Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare a projects layout. • Constructs buildings according to specifications, including windows and doors, and finishing interiors. • Determines dimensions and materials required. • Shapes and/or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws. • Assembles and fastens materials to make framework using hand tools, wood screws, and nails. • Builds or repairs doors, frameworks, floors, or other fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools. • Erects framework for structures. • Installs structures or fixtures, such as windows, and door frames using carpenter's hand or power tools. • Verifies trueness of structure using a carpenter's level. • Inspects work to ensure it meets quality standards and makes necessary adjustments to meet specifications. • Adheres to safety protocols and maintains a clean workspace. • Assists in other duties within the carpentry manufacturing plant, including the following: • Erector/Siding. • Painting/Trim • Press/Rafting • Ramps/Accessories. • Small Structures.
