Carpenter

Organize and complete carpentry-related tasks at construction projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Complete rough carpentry work, site logistical work, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, construction waste areas, and jobsite cleanup. • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements. • Erect scaffolding and ladders, as needed. • Install structures and fixtures including but not limited to windows, frames, floorings, trim, and hardware. • Review jobsite needs with superintendents and foremen, and coordinates construction. • Estimate, inventory, monitor, and request time, staff, materials, and equipment needed to complete work. • Operate equipment such as forklifts, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, compactor, and construction hoist. • Assist with the overall site safety and quality programs as required (including daily participation in Pre-Task Plans) and ensure Trade employees/subcontractors compliance with Turner standards and all applicable safety codes, regulations, and jobsite security. • Inspect all tools and power tools before use to ensure they are in safe and working condition. • Comply with written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers. • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees. • Ability to travel and accommodate night and weekend work as needed. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Display a high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations. • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. External Description Minimum of three (3) years of carpentry experience required. • Valid driver’s license preferred. • Basic knowledge of construction surveying. • Able to understand and interpret project drawings. • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction carpentry. • Knowledge of foundations and framing of buildings or other structures. • Basic arithmetic, basic geometry, and their applications to carpentry. • Knowledge of machines and tools, including uses, repair, and maintenance associated with carpentry and woodworking. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to accommodate night and weekend work as needed. • Comprehend safety instructions and signage. • Clear communication skills, especially in emergency situations. Lead Carpenter

Our company does full service remodeling and new construction in the Hickory, Lenoir, Morganton areas. You should be skilled at blue print reading, managing employees/subcontractors, good communication skills, "clean-cut", drug free, valid driver's license, and provide your own vehicle to and from job sites(work truck may be provided after.). This is a full time WORKING position. Our company does a lot of in-house and subcontractor work. In a bathroom remodel you, and crew, might do demo, framing, drywall finishing, molding, painting. If you do not know to complete this job from start to finish, with help of carpenter team and tradesman(plumbers, electricians, etc) then this is not for you The next job may be a exterior renovation of removing and replacing windows, roofing, and siding. We use same crew(s) to do different jobs. We also do new construction. On a new construction job we mainly do layoff, framing, molding, window and doors, sometimes roofing and siding. If you cannot lay off a new house, or steps, this is not your position. We are a forward thinking fast growing company with plenty of work to do. We specialize in working with lead paint, certified green, and use different techniques. We carry workers' compensation and general liability insurance. Trim Carpenter

Trim Carpenter: Must be able to do Stain grade trim work, including installation of Baseboard, Casing, backband, and basecap. Duties would also include installation of timberframe accent pieces, fabrication and installation of wooden closet shelving, sanding of all trim work and cleanup of job. Basic hand tools required.
