ABH Construction is seeking a Lead Carpenter to serve as our on-site expert for all carpentry work. You will be responsible for bringing our custom designs to life, from structural framing to intricate finish details. Key Responsibilities • Blueprint Execution: Read and masterfully interpret architectural plans to execute custom designs with precision. • Structural & Finish Carpentry: Perform and oversee all carpentry tasks, including framing, roofing, flooring, and the installation of high-end trim, custom cabinetry, built-ins, and other architectural woodwork. • Quality Craftsmanship: Ensure all carpentry work meets the superior standards seen in our portfolio. • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and solve challenges on the job site, ensuring a smooth workflow. • Team Collaboration & Safety: Work closely with the Project Manager and other trades, serving as a model for safety and professionalism on site. Qualifications & Skills • A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in high-end residential carpentry. • Mastery of hand and power tools, with a deep knowledge of construction materials and techniques. • A portfolio or examples of past work showcasing high-quality framing and finish carpentry is a plus. • Strong problem-solving skills and an exceptional eye for detail. • Reliable, professional, and committed to producing best-in-class work. Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st shift- Painter in our Maintenance Department at our Longview facility manufacturing plant.This position is responsible for the scheduled painting of the interior and exterior of the building, guard rails and production equipment to make sure that all mentioned areas are in compliance with Carpenter Company Standards. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. Position Scope Communicates daily with Maintenance Manager, other employees in the department and other management. Schedules and coordinates painting projects with production management to make sure that down time and that painting in high traffic areas are kept to minimum downtime are interference. Works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes. This position works in confined spaces and is subject to work at extreme heights. Major challenge is the ability to apply paint as directed to a wide range of surfaces. Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Responsible for the scheduled painting of the interior and exterior of the building • Responsible for the painting of guard rails and production equipment. • Ability to work in a variety of temperature changes, confined spaces, and heights. • Ability to work well with others in a team environment. • Have the knowledge of all types of paint, supplies, and equipment used for painting applications to all types of surfaces including guard rails, interior and exterior walls, floors surfaces, and machinery. • Supervises contract painters, other contracts, and other in house painter helpers working on scheduled painting projects. • Must be a certified forklift, genie boom, and scissor lift operator. Must have knowledge of the purchase order system and types of paint and equipment needed to finish a project. • Perform basic carpentry work including building cabinets, production tables, book shelves, walls, hanging doors, mounting signs, and other items as directed by management. • Makes sure that all equipment related to carpentry and painting are in good working order at all times to make sure that when needed it will not cause downtime in the production area. Requisites Education Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED. Experience Must have six (6) months to one (1) year of experience as a painter (required) Three (3) to five (5) years industrial experience is a (preferred) Must be able to read a tape measure Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required Preferred Qualifications Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, holidays, weekends and call in with little notice. Must pass forklift and pulmonary test. Non-Essential Functions 1. Picking up trash and other discarded items. 2. This position is responsible for assembling individual fabrics, zippers, and other sub-components into fabricated mattress cover. Major challenges involve the efficient usage of various components to produce cushion covers per customer specifications. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Prior industrial sewing experience is required. Receive and understand instructions from department supervisor or lead person. Accept work (component parts) distributed by material handlers or lead person. Assemble using specified sewing procedures, fabric and tick components into a finished cover according to specified customer requirements. Self-inspect each step of the sewing process to ensure customer expectations are met. Place finished product onto table or skid for next step in production process. Enclose finished cover with neat seams to meet customer demands. Clean sewing machine and perform basic maintenance. Set up sewing area with adequate supplies. Adhere to established department production procedures. Minimum Qualifications: Basic Reading, Writing and Math Skills. Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to work with little or no supervision. Non-Essential Functions: Assist with necessary inventory counting. Assist with turning finished covers from inside to outside appearance.
