Experienced Residential Carpenters Needed • Custom Residential Remodeling in South Charlotte • $30-35, based on experience JFK Construction is an established Custom Residential Remodeling Company. Projects include additions, porches, decks, sunroom, kitchen and bath renovations, interior renovations large and small. As a veteran owned company, we are happy to give back a portion of our sales to the Wounded Warrior Project. Join us in creating relaxing decks and porches, beautiful kitchens and baths, interior renovations or an exterior "facelift" with new doors, new windows or a portico. We are seeking experienced, self-motivated, Professional Carpenters with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and a long term commitment with opportunity for advancement. Applicants need to be able to work independently as well as coordinate with team members as needed. Candidates with leadership or job management skills preferred. What we are looking for • Carpentry experience in residential rough framing of decks, porches and additions as well as interior renovations including walls, floors, window and door installations and trim. • Good knowledge of the construction industry, building codes and residential remodeling processes. • Results-oriented, able to think ahead, manage time and resources, take pride in the work • Ability to overcome challenges - a resourceful, problem-solver • Good communication and customer service skills. • Familiar with remodeling occupied homes, keeping homeowner spaces clean and safe. • Strong work ethic, good organizational skills, positive can-do attitude. • Ability to train other carpenters as needed. • Punchlist skills to include drywall patch, trim, miscellaneous carpentry, door adjustment, etc. Requirements: • 8+ years construction experience. • 6+ years experience in custom residential remodeling to include framing additions, boxing, siding, flooring, installing windows and doors, deck building, tie-in to existing structures. • Strong carpentry skills and can coordinate with other trades. • Able to read and interpret construction drawings and plans. • Professional appearance and demeanor. • Able to pass a background check. • Physically able to to lift, push/pull and move up to 50 pounds, able to reach, stand, kneel, squat while working, able to ascend/descend and work from ladders safely. • Able to work in a variety of weather conditions • Must have valid driver's license, own truck or working van and own hand tools Responsibilities: • Utilize hand and power tools to perform carpentry tasks in residential remodeling projects. • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate construction and installation. • Coordinate team members to maintain project timelines and quality standards. • Provide daily updates on work progress and think ahead on next steps, materials, trades, etc. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations on the construction site while maintaining organizational skills. • Execute frame and trim carpentry work, as well as assist with other relevant tasks as needed.
