Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting chemical storage buildings. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of various carpentry techniques, including installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining structures. The successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable, and possess good communication and organizational skills. They must also have great hand dexterity and an eye for detail, with the ability to work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • To accurately read blueprints, drawings, and take accurate measurements to ensure quality. • Use hand tools required to perform the job but not limited to; hammers, drills, saws, screw guns, metal shears, utility knives, framing square, and edging tools. • Work with materials such as sheet rock, sheet metal, and insulation. • Ability to apply joint compound where drawings require it. • Measure, cut, and shape sheet rock and insulation. • Join materials with nails, screws, or adhesives. • Complete inspections and conduct repairs if needed. • Work on top of ladders and roofs of building structure. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Have a great attitude and willingness to grow with the company. • Diligently follow safe work practices for yourself and team members at all times. • Must be able to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed. • Must be able to work overtime as needed. • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision. • Knowledge of measurements using a tape measure. Working Conditions: • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs to waist and overhead. • Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground. • Ability to bend, twist, squat, stand, and walk up to 10 hours per day. • Wear all required PPE including: steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses. • Good physical condition and endurance. • Ability to work in high heat conditions.
