The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting chemical storage building. A skilled Carpenter with knowledge of various carpentry techniques with responsibility for installation, repairing, finishing and maintaining various structures. A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable and have good communication and organizational skills. A carpenter is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. Work with little supervisor while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting chemical storage buildings. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • To accurately read blue prints, drawings and take accurate measurements to ensure quality. • Use hand tools required to perform the job but not limited to; hammers, drills, saws, screw guns, metal shears, utility knives, framing square and edging tools. • Work with materials such as sheet rock, sheet metal and insulation. • Ability to apply joint compound where drawings require it. • Measure, cut and shape sheet rock and insulation. • Join materials with nails, screws or adhesives. • Complete inspections and conduct repairs if needed. • Work on top of ladders and roofs of building structure. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required • Have a great attitude and willing to grow with the company • Diligently follow safe work practices for yourself and team members at all times • Must be able to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed • Must be able to work overtime as needed • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision • Knowledge of measurements using a tape measure. Working Conditions • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs to waist and over head • Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground. • Ability to bend, twist, squat, stand and walk up to 10 hours per day. • Wear all required PPE including: steel toed shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses. • Good physical condition and endurance. • Ability to work in high heat conditions.
