WORK DESCRIPTION: Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood and plywood using carpenter's hand tools and power tools while conforming to local building codes. • Report safety, customer or quality concerns. • Install products as allowed by associated collective bargaining agreement and/or project labor agreement. • Maintain a clean work area at all times. • Understand blueprints and sketches. Measure, shape, and cut materials to specified measurements. • Safely unload and stage material at job site JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Belong to local union with current membership • Basic hand tools. • Background check may be required. • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds • Must be able to stand, bend, squat, and kneel for extended periods. • Occasional out-of-town travel • Drug screening per union requirements. • Dependable and punctual All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

We do big concrete. JB STEEL, Inc. self-performs structural concrete work on some of the most technically challenging projects in our area. You’ll be successful if you can hustle, do layout, tie re-bar, and finish. Experience with tilt-ups or other technically challenging projects is a huge plus! Although these positions may require travel, the Company pays for travel expenses including lodging, mileage, and per diem for meals. Your workday might look like this: • Build forms • Set forms • Tie Rebar • Place, level, and smooth concrete, using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, and float • Finish Concrete – Both rough and fine finishing • Use powered or manual concrete tools and equipment You need to have: • Commercial Concrete Experience • Ability to communicate effectively with team and supervisors • Ability to travel to out-of-town jobs • Reliable transportation to get to and from job sites • OSHA 10 or 30 a plus We work Monday through Friday and overtime if needed.
