Painter / Carpenter Location: Brookings, OR Department: Maintenance Job Type: Full-Time South Coast Lumber Company is seeking a skilled Painter/Carpenter to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing surfaces on industrial equipment, buildings, and wood products, as well as performing carpentry work to maintain quality, durability, and appearance in our operations. Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation & Painting: • Prepare metal, wood, and concrete surfaces by cleaning, sanding, priming, and masking as needed. • Apply paint, stains, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. • Ensure proper adhesion and durability of coatings on industrial structures, machinery, and wood. • Inspect surfaces for damage and wear, performing touch-ups and repairs as necessary. • Maintain painting equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and storage. • Follow manufacturer guidelines for mixing and applying coatings. • Monitor environmental conditions to ensure proper drying and curing of finishes. • Follow all company safety protocols, including proper PPE use. • Properly handle and dispose of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials. • Work in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
