Weld Engineer

On-Site in Beloit, WI - Relocation Assistance Available Job Description: Weld Engineer We are seeking a skilled Weld Engineer who will innovate and troubleshoot welding processes, ensuring high-quality results and continuous improvement within our new state-of-the-art facility. Responsibilities • Investigate and document welding defects, determining appropriate causes and potential corrective measures. • Develop welding procedures that effectively utilize new welding technology. • Design welding projects and communicate specific equipment and component requirements. • Troubleshoot welding problems and provide guidance for product material selection. • Improve production capabilities, optimize welding processes, and drive weld improvements. • Evaluate and improve workflow. • Create and update manufacturing work instructions, equipment manuals, and technical specifications. • Evaluate production processes and make recommendations for improvements. • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and provide management with data and statistics. • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with equipment requirements and limitations. • Provide flexible program offerings across multiple machines. • Ensure traceability and repeatability through programs and ERP communications. • Troubleshoot program challenges and reduce product inconsistencies. • Develop fixtures for program applications. • Manage fixture assets and instructions for successful and efficient fixture selection and use. • Problem solve and communicate effectively with the work team. • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes. Essential Skills • Bachelor’s degree in weld engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering. • 5 years of experience as a Weld Engineer. • Welding experience with sheet metal, weldments, and large assemblies. • Experience with ERP systems. • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software. • ISO 9000 experience. • Knowledge of metallurgy. • Experience with simulation/FEA. • Laser welding, MIG, TIG, fixture, weldments, and large assemblies. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes. • Drawing/detailing skills. • Strength/size calculation expertise. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
