Job Description Summary Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assemble and TIG weld aerospace castings and details • Use fixtures, tools, and gauges to produce aerospace parts meetings blueprint drawing tolerances • Follow detailed work instructions • Practice weld procedures per GE and Nadcap/AWS specifications • Work in a team environment, participate in Action Workouts, and contribute to the LEAN Manufacturing workplace • Practice safe work habits and maintain a hazard-free work environment. • QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: • Must have minimum of two years Gas Tungsten Arc (Heliarc) welding experience • Pass Gas Tungsten Arc Weld test on nickel base, cobalt base and stainless steel alloys (groove and fillet welding per MIL-W-1595) • Prefer 2 years of college or trade school background or professional industry equivalency • Must be able to complete qualification training on nickel and cobalt per AWS D17.1 • Good attendance, attitude and work habits will be required • Employee must have no disqualifications on his/her record for the past six months • NOTE: Employee will have a 60-day period to establish performance in new classification and acquire necessary tools. If such performance is not established and maintained, the individual will be returned to previous classification. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Welders must be able to perform to AWS D17.1 aerospace standards using Inconel (nickel/cobalt-based materials). Candidates with TIG welding experience in aerospace or sheet metal environments will be prioritized. This is a temp-to-perm role through PDS/Adecco, with the potential to convert to full-time employment after approximately six months based on performance. Responsibilities • Read blueprints, take measurements, and plan welding layouts. • Set up components, secure them in jigs/fixtures, and align using calipers and rulers. • Perform TIG welding in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. • Operate saws, grinders, and other tools to prepare materials for welding. • Inspect and test welds to identify flaws or structural issues. • Maintain welding equipment and comply with all safety standards.
