Next-generation solutions for the U.S. Armed Forces FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Approved Date: 3/8/18 Job Title: Mig/Tig Welder Department: Production Summary Welds together metal components of products such as steel bar, steel and aluminum details, fabrications, and plates along with many other weldments using mig/tig welding equipment by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned • Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun. • Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer or Welding Technician. • Starts power supply to produce electric current. • Strikes (forms) arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to workpiece and join edges of workpiece. • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle. • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications. • Applies filler rod manually to supply weld metal. • Cleans or degreases weld joint or workpiece. • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes. • Prepares broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces. • Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter. • Preheats workpiece with hand torch or heating furnace. • Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture. • Tacks assemblies together. Certified Weld Inspector

American Rheinmetall FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Title: Certified Weld Inspector Department: Quality Summary Welding inspector ensures that the work produced by welders meets specific customer specifications for quality and safety. The inspector performs tests on welds to ensure that the welds satisfy engineering specifications. This position also participates with training newly hired welders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned • Performs visual inspections on welded products and structures in progress and on completed jobs. • Searches for defects in the weld such as cracks and pits. • Uses magnification to find defects that potentially weaken the strength of the joint. • Checks weld machine setup and the welding techniques of welders on work in-process to ensure the quality of the work. • Records the results of tests and welding inspections. • Facilitates a weld sample test • Administers a hands-on welding sample test using company equipment • Works with Welding Department Team Leaders to provide ongoing training for existing welder workforce.
