MIG/TIG Production Welder - 1st Shift (6:30am-3pm M-F)

We have opportunities for MIG, TIG, Spot and Robotic Welders! 1st SHIFT WELDER NEEDED: We work a standard 5 days at 8 hours per day (6:30a-3:00pm M-F). Overtime is typically from 6:00am - 11:00am on Saturday, but not guaranteed. Essential Functions 1. Ability to perform proper Weld and Quality check on piece part 2. Welds parts to blueprints specifications 3. Evaluates welds to determine if it is high quality/acceptable. 4. Makes adjustments to welding machine as necessary. 5. Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. 6. Communicates with supervisor, production, quality and other shop personnel for assignments, and to resolve machining or quality issues. 7. Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly, and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment. 8. Communicates to co-workers and other team members in an effective way. Welder/Fabricator

You should be highly skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, as well as experienced in handling a variety of metal fabrication tools, equipment, and machinery. Primary Responsibilities • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements • Weld steel, aluminum and stainless steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings using both TIG and MIG • Ensuring that all components are properly built, aligned, and fastened. • Verifying dimensions and product specifications. • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task • Follow all safety rules and quality standards • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency • Other job-related tasks as assigned Knowledge and Skill Requirements • Associates degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and training preferred • Experience with drill press, shearing, lathe, bandsaw and brake press highly preferred • Experience with steel, aluminum and/or stainless steel is preferred • 3 years of experience with TIG/MIG welding highly preferred • Ability to lift heavy items up to 60 pounds consistently • Ability to identify and measure material • Willingness to learn and have a dependable work ethic • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time Job Type: Full-time Pictures of past projects/custom work are strongly encouraged upon scheduling an interview. Welder/Fabricator - Porter Corp

Summary The primary purpose of this position is to Fabricate and Weld steel parts according to blueprint specifications. Welders are called to use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms.
