Primary Responsibilities and Competencies: • Reads blueprints for specifications such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be cut. Obtains and transfers stock to machine • Measures work for conformance to specifications • Retrieves parts from staging areas • Helps prep weldments for priming and finish coating • Positions and secures work piece to table, angle plate, or vises and verifies position • Interprets machine readings and adds or subtracts weight depending on the reading • Drills, grinds, chips, or files metal from heavy side or welds, solders or rivets pieces to light side to correct imbalance • Verifies dimensions of machined work piece with a tape measure within 1/8 of an inch. Education, Experience and Qualifications: · General CNC and fabrication knowledge is plus, but not required. · Experience with metalworking tools such as, sanders, grinders, etc… is strongly encouraged. · Capable of multitasking. · Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills. · Strong mechanical aptitude. · Ability to fluently communicate in English (reading, writing, verbal). · Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding of basic manufacturing procedures and GD&T. · High school diploma with general math skills required.
