Welder/Fabricator

SUMMARY Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates welding equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: • Operates welding equipment. • MIG, TIG, and other types of welding equipment • Operates torches, plasma cutter, grinders, brake, shear, saw and other metal fabricating equipment. • Welds or fabricates a variety of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel and a variety of carbon steels. • Reads Engineering Prints. • Understands dimensions and tolerancing • Verifies conformance to specified requirements • Provides minor maintenance on welding and fabricating equipment. • Uses PL software to determine schedule of parts to be manufactured. MISCELLANEOUS RESPONSIBILITIES • Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
