Production Team Member - 2nd Shift

An example of one of the roles involves receiving painted products from the paint line and matching them with purchased components from our warehouse. The 4 main steps of the assembly process are: Sub-Assembly- This person begins the process by doing some assembly and label placing on the cabinet then sends to the builder by conveyor system. Drawer Person- The drawer person combines the front and drawer bin for the cabinet and sends it to the builder. Builder- The builder finishes the assembly process and installs the drawers. Packaging- The product is boxed using vacuum hoist and skidded then sent to Shipping. What you'll learn here as part of your job: You'll learn how to read, understand and follow Standard Work Chart and any special instructions for your job. You'll learn how to highlight Sub items on Travelers without assistance. Don't worry - we'll show you how to do that! You'll learn the ability to use safe and correct techniques for installing components and using of tools. You'll learn how to operate air activated tools and equipment to assemble products. Cool! You'll learn how to compare, inspect, and monitor production quality to approved standards and accept, reject, or question in accord with established standards. You'll learn the ability to read and understand Bills of Material. Ability to identify and use the correct components in the assembly process. Ability to verify color of cabinets and painted parts and match-up with traveler. You'll be able to demonstrate your knowledge of component storage locations and proper techniques for installation. You'll learn the ability to distinguish between the different work surfaces and the ability to perform the proper quality checks on them. You'll learn to perform tasks in accordance with standard levels of performance required to meet production rate established for specific parts being worked. Primary Function This IC Journeyman Millwright position’s primary job function is to install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain rotating and non-rotating mechanical equipment for the plant site . Functions that must be performed in order to fulfill Primary Function stated above include: • Installs, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains mechanical equipment such as compressors, pumps, centrifuges, conveyors, elevators, cranes, etc. for the site. • Complete documentation for work as required. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Troubleshoots and repairs chain drives, bearings, hoists, and machine shop equipment. • Troubleshoots, rebuilds and repairs pumps (vane, gear, centrifugal, screw, diaphragm, vacuum) for the site including alignment. • Troubleshoots and repairs both pneumatic and hydraulic systems. • Dismantle equipment when required for repair or transportation and reassemble upon return. • Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation. • Clean, lubricate and perform other condition-based maintenance work on mechanical equipment. • Safely perform other maintenance non-Millwright related work as needed. • Utilize the maintenance work process to complete work. Provide daily job progress to scheduler and routine feedback to planner to ensure efficiency and continuous improvement. • Learn, follow, and occasionally create and update applicable procedures to ensure that all jobs are completed in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. • Responsible for knowledge and use of all area and job specific safety equipment. • Perform daily housekeeping activities in order to maintain a safe and environmentally sound workplace. • Assist with training of new employees. • Complete all training requirements as determined by site needs. • Industrial Craftsman (IC) role - Perform other non-Millwright maintenance work you are trained for and can execute safely. • Actively support and participate in programs to continuously improve plant operations through problem-solving teams, etc. • Actively support plant and corporate HESS safety programs, objectives, and expectations. • Follows the Ludington Guiding Principles. • Must be able to work with others in a self-directed workforce environment. Education/Certification Requirements Pre-employment Requirement • Successful completion of a formal Millwright Training Program and/or 5 years Industrial Millwright experience. Post-employment Requirement • Forklift License • Manlift (JLG) License • Overhead Crane License Physical Requirements • Climb multiple flights of stairs to access the top of tanks and process equipment. • Work in all types of weather (heat, humidity, sub-zero cold, etc.) • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs with tools weighing 25 lbs. • Must be able to perform duties requiring standing for extended periods of time. • Bending and kneeling around process equipment for extended periods to conduct equipment rebuilds and repairs. • Perform typical physical requirements found in maintenance such as repetitive pushing, pulling, and lifting motions. • Climb step and extension ladders to access process equipment, working from scaffolding, and working in high places in excess of 100 ft. high. • Ability to lift 50 pounds. • Mounting and dismounting a forklift or manlift multiple times per shift. • Working in confined spaces, or awkward positions may be necessary for extended periods. (This could include sitting, lying on one’s stomach, back, or side, stooped over, stretching, or leaning around objects as possible examples). • Ability to work around chemicals such as hydrochloric acid, calcium chloride, magnesium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, lubrication oils, greases, and chemical cleaning agents. • Ability to wear all required PPE. • Use of a cutting torch and welding helmet.
