Swing Shift Diesel Mechanic

Position Overview Dietrich Trucking is seeking an experienced Swing Shift Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and trailers operating throughout the Pacific Northwest. This role requires a skilled, self-motivated mechanic capable of diagnosing and repairing equipment independently during evening hours. Work will take place both in the shop and in the field, often in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems • Repair or replace engines, transmissions, differentials, air systems, and braking components • Conduct welding and light fabrication as needed • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and identify potential issues • Ensure all work meets company safety standards and DOT compliance • Support fleet operations by maintaining communication with the fleet manager Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience (truck or heavy equipment preferred) • Must pass pre-employment drug screen • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting ability • Familiarity with air brakes, hydraulics, and DEF/emission systems • Basic welding and fabrication experience • Must have own hand tools (shop provides specialty tools) • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL preferred) • Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in outdoor or confined environments Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Application Question(s): • Do you have your own tools to perform these job duties?
