POSITION: Design Engineer STATUS: Full Time REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager DIRECT REPORTS: None LOCATION: Winslow, Maine DATE: April 2025 POSITION SUMMARY: The Design Engineer is responsible for the mechanical design structure of new trailers, improvements to existing designs, and customization of existing base model designs. A key focus within the engineering design is accomplishing correct and efficient manufacturability. The position interacts with Sales, the quoting process, and Quality and Production personnel. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Creates engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards to meet project requirements. Updates standards as needed. • Generates 3D SolidWorks weldments, Bills of Material, other design renditions, etc. • Draws details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacturing-solid understanding of engineering design techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology and mechanical logic. • Use SolidWorks CAD programs to support production by preparing custom and standard layouts, detailed drawings, and diagrams. • Familiar with various metal weldments, field concepts, manufacturing practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan, solve problems and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. • The position represents a blend of functional applications, including Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Designing, and Design for Manufacturability. • A high degree of design creativity, latitude, and motivation is expected. • Contributes to R&D for new product development, functionality, and quality improvement upgrades. • Heavy interaction with Inside Sales and the quoting process. • Heavy interaction with Manufacturing management supporting a timely resolution of manufacturing problems. • Performs other engineering duties as assigned. DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related studies • Experience with SolidWorks CAD Software, preferably 2+ years. • Basic understanding of ERP systems and BOM systems. • Experience using a snowmobile, ATV, open and enclosed utility, or livestock trailers desired. What You'll Be Doing • Travels to job sites to provide design assistance, size products, and troubleshoot problem jobs. • Provides technical assistance to customers and sales force for product specifications, application, and product suitability. • Provides application, installation, and design assistance on residential HVAC, Hydronic, and Ductless products. • Performs joint sales calls with Territory Manager when needed. • Produces quotations for assigned products in a timely manner. This includes phone and e-mail requests from external and internal customers. • Performs take-offs from blueprints for plan & spec jobs. Steam Plant Engineer in Charge

Job Description Department: Operations and Maintenance Pay Rate Type: Hourly Employee Type: Job Summary:The Steam Plant Engineer in Charge directs the operation of the College’s central heating plant, including co-generation, natural gas fired, and biomass systems that provide steam and electrical power for most campus facilities. Responsibilities include: supervision of the operation and maintenance of the high-pressure boilers, turbine generator, biomass material handling equipment, and auxiliary equipment. This position ensures that the Central Heating Plant meets the needs of the campus and provides necessary steam for campus climate control, hot water and cooking. This position will also perform duties as shift operator in the plant. Supervise and maintain the College’s fuel depot and standby generators. Essential Functions and Responsibilities To perform successfully in this position, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily as well as possess education/experience, employ the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed in representative fashion. Instruct employees in safe work practices and oversee their implementation. • Perform duties as shift operator as required to support maintenance efforts and coverage gaps • Monitor and control emissions in accordance with Colby directives, the State of Maine DEP and federal regulations. • Maintain, repair and overhaul all Steam Plant Equipment. • Maintain, repair and monitor the College fuel depot. • Maintain accurate, reliable plant records in accordance with good maintenance practices and as required by the College, the State of Maine DEP, State Boiler Inspectors Office and other regulatory bodies. • Research, develop and submit annual maintenance and repair budgets. • Manage annual budget to complete work within budget. • Provide routine training for staff, ensuring they are up to date with safety and operational training needed in the performance of their duties. • Work in a positive and cooperative manner with other department personnel and the Colby community. Position Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education and/or experience: • High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional post-secondary education is desired such as seminars, certificates, related college courses or other documented training. • A Maine State 2nd class Stationary Engineers or higher license required. • Computer skills are required; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite required and File Maker Pro desired. • Minimum of 10 years experience in steam plant operations, including biomass experience, required. College courses may be substituted for years of experience at the College’s discretion.
